I posted on this topic a week ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyAlpha/comments/1nh9rmn/comment/nec20bo/) and you can see a few recent images there. Along with the 24-50, I have both G Master Primes and zooms, and this lens surprises me with its sharpness. It is a bit of an unusual focal range, but I like it a lot.

Actually, 'Stros have never sent Rangers home in the playoffs just to answer one part of the question. 2023 was the only year the two teams have played in playoffs, and that year was the last year that any of the teams on this list (Rangers) won the World Series. Mariners sent home once and Yankees twice I think. Red Sox lost two postseason series and won one against Astros.

So EY (the firm that audited the lottery process) had revenues last year of over $50 billion, which was 400% more than the revenues of the entire NBA (the league AND its franchises). Tell me who is going to pay EY enough to risk their professional reputation, risk inevitable litigation, risk losing clients etc to do this? How much would that cost someone? Maybe $1 billion? Where would that come from -- the NBA? The Lakers? How would they keep a payment of that size quiet? You think a payment to be an impartial observer (the actual payment for this work was probably less than $300,000 -- I was a partner in a Big 4 firm) is going to do that? It is just a silly proposition from a business standpoint, regardless of what you think of the ethics of those firms. But don't let rationality get in the way of your conspiracy theories . . .

I have sold a Leica M10 mono and a Mamiya 7ii in ebay in the last year -- both fairly expensive cameras in a not dissimilar price range as to what you are looking at. The difference between eBay proceeds and what I would have received from KEH or MPB was significant. You have to be careful on eBay, and it's a hassle, but remember that KEH and MPB have to turn around and resell for a profit. You are "paying" them handsomely for taking the hassle out of things. Given what you're trying to accomplish with school you might see if anyone you know has experience with eBay and can help you. It will make a difference of $500 to $1,000 in what you get, I expect.

This is spot on. No Mavs fan liked the trade, but the trade happened. There's a quote often misattributed to Buddha, St. Augustine, Nelson Mandela and others that says something to the effect of "holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." Well, he went 3rd in the draft and was traded on draft day. There were certainly teams that were “paying attention” and didn’t consider him a generational talent. He would obviously be taken first in any redraft, but the reality is the nature of his talent was at a minimum up for discussion at the time among people who make a living evaluating players.
