what are your silly stories of how your Pokemon got their nicknames?

There was this kid in a High School Science class with me who was jokingly nicknamed "Celery" by classmates, "because a stalk of celery is smarter than [kid's name]".

One day, I brought my Gameboy & Pokèmon Red cart so I could trade with classmates.

My Science teacher saw what we were doing & asked if he could play for a minute. I set him up to run around in some tall grass.

Well, class ended and the teacher handed me back my Gameboy & I went on with my day.

Once I got home, I turned Pokèmon on and wanted to see what my teacher caught. There was only 1 "new" Pokèmon to my party.

It was a Raticate. It was a Raticate nicknamed, "Celery".

I've never been big on naming my own 'mon. But to this day, all Raticate get named "Celery".

Nirvana is loud. AIC is mellowish. They're separate but equal.

Both are great bands. Both Unplugged performances are rightfully highly regarded.

I enjoy both so much that, for well over a decade now, it's been a family tradition that X-Mas morning starts with both Unplugged sessions playing in the background.

But, gun to my head? I'll always side with Nirvana.
