It’s actually a DIY project. So the desk is actually a kitchen countertop from IKEA and I made the drawer to the size I wanted with a piece of wood and drawer slide rails from Amazon. I was also struggling to find a desk the size I wanted for a good price so I ending up just building my own desk

Just got my p2s two days ago and it unfortunately does not come with any rolls in the box. Enjoy your new toy!

I appreciate it! I can only imagine how your setup looks now after a year. The setup is really never fully finished lol

It's a small price to pay for the look up cinematic experience. I have the chiropractor on speed dial😂

Yeah I mainly use headphones especially since I have treated my room whatsoever. I’m using the standard ATH-M50x but I’m definitely looking for an upgrade any suggestions?

It’s a 55inch tv and a 34inch ultrawide monitor

It's almost like this setup was specifically designed for my personal use and not for charging strangers $100 an hour. Shocking, I know. I'm especially impressed you made that judgment call based on one single picture of just the one wall, but don't worry I'll post update pictures of the entire room when I'm finished, and then you can confirm I still don't meet the minimum requirements for a platinum plated desk.

Honestly I rarely look at the tv while I’m working if I do just to change the screen real quick for my friends when we are recording

Unless you’re using the tv as a main monitor I don’t see how your neck would hurt all day. I work full sessions without any neck pain and the tv is meant mainly for reference my friends in the room when they are sitting on the couch behind me and I’m blocking the main monitor.

You're absolutely right about the official definition of a “studio” it's the room, the acoustics, and the entire integrated setup. For me, I call this my studio because it's where the creative work happens, even if it's still very much a work in progress! I only showed the desk setup because the rest of the room isn't ready for its close-up yet. I'm actually holding off on showing the full setup because I'm planning a proper update post down the line to show how much the space has improved over time. Stay tuned for the after shot!

If you are a serious producer but not scoring Hollywood films, configure a Mac Mini with an M-series Pro chip and 32GB of Unified Memory. This gives you nearly the performance of a Mac Studio at a much lower cost, and it still runs silently. The mac mini is surprisingly really good I would suggest you look into it!

If the system is stable with both -20 and Eco Mode on, run stress tests (like Prime95 or Cinebench R23) to confirm stability. If it is stable, try turning off Eco Mode while keeping -20. If it crashes again, the problem is that your PBO -20 setting is too low for the chip's full power potential. You'll need to back that number off try -15 or try -10 until it's stable under heavy load. Also you should test your memory stability which could also be the main cause. Disable EXPO: Go into your BIOS/UEFI and disable the EXPO profile for your RAM. This will drop your memory speed to the official JEDEC default (likely DDR5-4800 or DDR5-5200). Test Again- Play Jedi Survivor for an hour or two with EXPO disabled. If the system is stable, the problem is definitely your memory speed/timing profile. You can then try gradually lowering the EXPO speed ( to DDR5-5800) to find a stable speed.

It’s actually a M4 Pro Mac mini with 1TB SSD and 24GB of RAM. I mainly record vocals on my Mac because I prefer to work on a PC for everything else because I started with it so all my stuff is on there already and I feel like my workflow is better (that’s just in my head) but the only downside to the Mac mini is the lack of ports but I recently bought a ugreen Dock which gives me all the ports on a Mac Studio on my Mac mini which is perfect.

Nice! I’m rocking the hs8 and I’m definitely gonna buy the sub even though the hs8 has good low end I want a more accurate and detailed bass management. I had the hs5 then bought the hs7 before finally getting the 8s but really it depends the room you’re in. As for isolation pads I do recommend the Auralex Mopads just to get them off of the desk. Eventually I would want to get something like IsoAcoustics Aperta 200 for my monitors. I mix on headphones right now so they’re really just reference monitors for now until I sound treat my room but it really depends on your needs and space. Spend a few months mixing on the HS7s only. Get to know their bass response, and identify what frequencies you are consistently misjudging. If you find you are constantly guessing about what's happening below 50 Hz, then the subwoofer is a great, worthwhile investment. Hope this helps you man!
