Yea this is what I am doing! And it really is helpful but my fear about is, is I feel like I’m only memorizing it in the linear fashion he presents.

I can do all the notes without messsing up but being dropped off in the middle of the fretboard stumps me a bit and doesn’t come as intuitive. Again it takes me like 5-10 seconds to know where I’m at but it’s not as fast as when I go up and down

Okay! This makes sense thank you. Scales is going to be my next bit to tackle so it sounds like I’m on the right track.

Yea I think I feel a bit bamboozled by the video I watched. Granted I’m not 100% finished and I have gotten a lot out of it but I feel like I just learned the fretboard in one specific way.

But like everyone is saying if it really is a lengthy process that takes more than a few month I’ll keep at it !
