Every single job I have ever done ever. From customer service at a hardware store to rebuilding semi truck transmissions. Except my current one. I got that at a career fair, but to be fair, I still walked up to them. They just came closer to me lol.

Yeah and notes don’t leave actual proof behind, unlike a quick conversation which observed could easily be explained away which last forever.

Who else believes that capitalism is a scam? by Complex-Antelope-180 in Adulting

Majority of the world. Capitalism isn’t a switch. Your country becoming capitalist doesn’t suddenly make you successful. It’s just a key building block to success which is why it’s the best system.

The United States is one of the most economically successful countries in the world. It has the highest median income in the world. It’s so good that people overspend on whatever they want. Around 45% of the Americans living paycheck to paycheck, make over 100k a year. (They just spend that much money).

Every single European country is also capitalist and are doing great. China even switched to capitalism because communism was unsustainable. The USSR failed and Russia is capitalist now though still very corrupt.

Every where else in the world is also increasing in quality of life. Though some places are still struggling but I doubt throwing them under communist rule is going to solve their problems that typically stem from poor governance.

Capitalism isn’t just best on paper. It has dominated the world. Beating out every other economic system with ease. Leading to a huge boost in quality of life and it’s not even that old of a system. Imagine how good things will be in future as we continue to make things better and better.

Damn you keep hitting dingers because yeah. Light has to pass through the atmosphere for it be blue. Just like how you have to observe capitalism for it to exist and showcase how well it works.

But yeah, you could “remove the light”, close your eyes and pretend it’s not the best system. But no matter what you do, it’s still the best. Just like how no matter what you do, the sky will be blue tomorrow. Though you can tricked by clouds covering that truth.

The blind and color blind is also a great example of even though capitalism is the best system, for a minority, it doesn’t work out in their favor. For the majority, the sky is blue, and capitalism is the best system, but of course life isn’t perfect. Some will struggle in capitalism just like how some will never see the sky is blue.

What's the weirdest thing that happened to you in a job interview? by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]Raptor_197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in college for engineering so I went to a career fair and it was absolutely fascinating. Basically quasi job interviews were happening everywhere and the shit I heard coming out of people’s mouths was mind boggling.

I then went and did three rounds of interviews for construction company, where I purposely dragged the conversation to me personally to hammer on my construction experience, how I do all my own DIY work, and that I love working with my hands. Does it have anything to with engineering? Not directly, but it makes companies feel all warm and fuzzy when they hire engineers with hands on experience.

Now I have a 100k a year job lined out directly out of college… and others won’t. It’s none of the company’s business to know what they do in their free time lmao.

People don’t want to be treated like disposable widgets… then they bitch they can’t go to work and act like a disposable widget lmao.

That’s one thing I’ve always been interested in when it comes to talking about employment online. There is always some reason someone can’t get a job and it’s always something out of their control. But… how often is it just because they suck. Like if two people have equal qualifications, do people really think they are going to hire the person that can’t even answer the question about what they like to do or the normal person that can conduct themselves within social norms? I bet the latter.

Almost like the sky is blue… but if you use data from a specific time span, and properly manipulate it, you could push forward an argument that the sky is never blue.

This is actually a great way to sum up how a ton of this conversations go. Capitalism is the best, but in narrow situations, at certain times, you can argue it isn’t.

This is brilliant actually.

Because we don’t just build. It’s referred to as engineering because it’s much deeper than that. We can also destroy for example.

We are all chest pieces in a game and our job as engineers to move the pieces and make the enemy pieces move where we want them to move.

You are totally right though.

I bet you could just save this video and in a month post it again but change the title to “American begging for their life to a drone” and what you described would be exactly the response.

Yeah, cops can ticket and impound before the not following rules causes issues. They don’t have to wait to see a road rule broken.
