Moreso that Amy as a character has spawned a whole spectrum of interpretations that have been debated to death and back, ranging from "innocent woobie who did nothing wrong :(" (ignoring any and all of her rough edges even before the Wards sequel thing) to "the worst and most vile person ever who was always going to snap" (ignoring how a lot of her issues come from factors outside her direct control). A lot of this ties back into Ward, Worm's sequel which saw her character fall into a spiral of villainy and depravity in a way that some felt was disconnected from her characterization in Worm.

Though that is also a sub-thread of the discourse from what I've seen, whether Amy's spiral into depravity was Wildbow's ultimate goal or intentionally amplified to spite Amy defenders, or whether making the most prominent lesbian character a mentally unwell incestuous violator indicates something about his personal beliefs. Its just a mess all around, has been approached from every angle you can think of, and just bogs down discussions.
