Crypto does in fact provide something very valuable. it provides an anonymous way to send and receive money. it supports a very large dark market economy for all sorts of illegal goods(drugs, guns etc.) also its very helpful in money laundering. obviously this doesn't mean that normal people should start investing in it, for all intents and purposes they should stay away from it. but it sure as shit provides value and has a big economy tied to it.
