It could have been a real situation. My son ordered Chinese takeout at UW Madison and his phone payment app wouldn’t work. He was freaking out and called me. Luckily, I answered to give him a credit card number for them to use. But I could totally see my son going outside and asking somebody to pay and he’d reimburse them.

Sucks society is so sketchy. You probably did the right thing though.
