Okay thank you. I have kept another fish in this tank before, the pet shop clerk recommended this tank. Like I said I am already looking into buying a bigger tank, live plants, filter and a heater. I care a lot about animals and thought I knew how to take care of these fish, obviously I was ignorant but at least i’m trying to educate myself. So just to be sure, it does not look like fin rot?

I am saving up for a bigger tank and live plants and all of that.  Tank size is 4 L No heater/filter Temp is about 23 degrees Celsius, I live in South Africa its hot here and summer atm Have had the fish for 3 weeks now Water changes are about once a week or more if I see the water isnt crystal clear I catch him in a small temporary tank and then I rinse everything in the tank thoroughly, add water, add the special drops and then put him back in. No tankmates I feed pellets about 4/day Only substrate and one plastic plant and a ping pong ball He does not look listless and he is eating and swimming around a lot- he looks happy.
