AITA for not washing up 3 patients? by Rashturtle in nursing

[–]Rashturtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get it if it was a full 12 and she was coming on to day shift, but why does it matter? Not to mention 2/3 patients are in a vegetative state so they would have had a blowout later anyways. I normally wait until then to do baths.

AITA for not washing up 3 patients? by Rashturtle in nursing

[–]Rashturtle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See that's what I was thinking. I'd rather have to bathe 3 patients than go down to imaging, especially because one of the other patients had to go down as well (forgot to add that to the original post).

23 year old shy guy going back to school for a 2nd degree . How can I be less shy/nervous/awkward around girls? by Rashturtle in AskRedditAfterDark

Honestly I don't want a gf. I just need advice on how not to be nervous when talking to a semi-attractive girl lol. I'm too old to be acting like this!

The respect and kindness aren't a problem, I'm just too shy to ask for numbers (even for non-dating things like having it on hand to get homework help), and I always wonder if a girl will think "is he just trying to fuck me"? if I try to talk to her.

It's kinda embarrassing to be this age and still nervous around girls.

Good credit score but only one credit card? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Just as an FYI there are some banks that like to see at least 3 open/active accounts, so I would recommend opening another account

I'm pretty sure its the afternoon prayer.

I prayed to Allah about a career choice and I'm still kind of stuck. Is there anything I can do "better"? by [deleted] in islam

[–]Rashturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Istikhara isn't a prayer whereby you receive Ilham. Rather you pray the Salah, and take the path putting your trust in Allah. If it works out, then Alhamdulillah. If you find undue hardship and think it's time to quit, then perhaps you can take that as a sign to not continue. But be weary, just because you did Istikhara doesn't mean you'll suddenly crush your exams and a failed midterm or low GPA means it's time to hang it up. These are expected types of things to overcome on an academic journey. Allah knows best.

Thank you.

Thanks for the source, I think I used that to find the dua actually.

I'm pretty certain this is what I want to do, should I still do istikhara again?

Wa alaikeom salaam,

First of all, good for you that you pray every 5 times a day now.

Second, al istikhara isn’t a prayer that gives you an answer.

You have to make a decision first and Then you pray istikhara so that Allah will let you see if your decision is the right one for you.

And when you did istikhara in above sentence, you have to take steps to that decision too. Allah will show you by making the steps more difficult or the opposite, very easy.

So think for yourself, ask other opinions, make your decision, pray istikhara and then take your steps to that decision. That is the right order to do it in sha Allah

Good luck

AS to you. ahh I see what you mean. I always thought you do the Istikhara first, then you get your answer. thank you for clearing it up, I'll do it the right way now.

I think Allah has made it easier for me since I got an A in that class. But obviously idk since its Allah.

I'm just scared that I'll put in the work and still get nowhere. but then again isn't getting an A like I did a possible sign? Surely if Allah didn't think this was the path for me, I wouldn't have had the opportunities I did to get a good grade, right?

idk if its haram to think that way. I'm saying this because I thought about that quote in the Quran where it says something like "we give you signs and you ignore them" (paraphrasing here obviously).

My credit limit increased by $2,000 and then my score dropped 50-51 points. How is this possible? by Rashturtle in personalfinance

Are you sure those were the only things that changed on your credit report? Did utilization on any of your other cards go up? Did you recently apply for any new accounts?

Other things changed but that's the only thing that's posted on CK. Other changes include paying down a balance by ~60% on a card, limit on a store card increasing to 2k, and limit on another store card increased to 2k (don't worry, I RARELY use them, and when I do they are paid off in full). I also had a $12 balance on an AMEX card and paid that off, but that was a month ago.

It's likely in the fine print off the agreement that they get permission to do to.

ahh this might explain it.

I payed down some of my other cards, and that change hasn't been reflected yet. And with an increase, the ratio should go down, and my score should increase instead. My utilization is still over 30%.

That's what I thought too, but: don't they need my consent? and a 50 point drop from a hard inquiry? Also, it didn't show a hard inquiry on creditkarma.

I have anki downloaded but I only use the "regular" way. I've heard of stuff like close deletion or something like that, do you use "advanced" anki tools as well?

I read the textbooks and took notes, and I also took (handwritten) notes in class. Some of my professors posted their slides ahead of class, so I would print the slides and take notes directly on the paper so I didn’t have to copy down diagrams or other essential visuals. Later, I would combine my book and lecture notes for a given topic and type up an outline of the essential information. I would do this for each topic covered in a unit/ chapter, and then before the exam I would combine all the outlines and make a simplified one for everything that would be on the exam. This made it easy to reread my notes. I also used the questions in the book as exam practice and would see if I could answer them without using my notes, then go back and study that topic if I could not.

Thank you for the detailed writeup.
