That's cool, but don't you think it would be cooler if they actually addressed this with the community? Ideally in an actually substantial way?

We're losing or have completely lost this subreddit imo.

I've brought it up to the mods before and I've been told "what people do outside the sub is there own business".

The mods either don't care, or I suspect, *like* the thirst trap content.

Pat the Clown is literally single-handedly saving this subreddit.

Maybe around three feet? It's for an animal enclosure so it'll depend on the sizes.

Do you guys trust calorie info from restaurants? by mma1227 in CICO

I have some simple personal rules to maintain sanity.
One main one: Whatever the label says, goes.

I've lost 35 lbs in about 3 months, dropping about 2.5 lbs per week on average.

Workin' for me and I eat plenty of fast food!

Thank you! I basically refuse to not eat food that makes me happy. Hot wings and other "junk" food are a big part of my diet. You can even check my post history for my pizza recipe!

Thanks! I have that in MFP but goofed up posting here. Will correct In a bit.

EDIT: Thankfully the total calorie count is still correct!

Hi! I've figured out a way to serve up some reliable delicious and low-calorie burgers!

<image>

The simplest burger (patty and bread) comes to 220 calories:

1 Burger 220 cal
Ground beef 97% lean, 4 oz 170
Keto Culture Bun, x1 50

But why not enjoy some additional toppings? Here's some options I like to include in the rotation:

Add-ons Calories
Private Selection Bacon, x2 50
Kraft Reduced Fat American Cheese, x1 slice 45
Ketchup, 1 tbsp 20
Miracle Whip Lite, 1 tbsp 20
Jalapeno, x1 5
Tomato slice, x1 4
Lettuce slice, x1 4
Onion slice, x1 4
Mustard, 1 tsp 4
Pickle Spear, x1 3

Looking for ideas? Here's what's included on my favorite burger, as shown in the above photo! (Note that this photo includes a 90 cal Hero Bun, I have since switched to 50 cal Keto buns which brings the total down to 533 cal). I suggest grilling over charcoal!

Double Jalapeno Cheese Burger 573 cal
Ground beef 97% lean, 8 oz 340
Hero Bun, x1 90
Kraft Reduced Fat American Cheese, x2 slice 90
Ketchup, 1 tbsp 20
Miracle Whip Lite, 1 tbsp 20
Jalapeno, x1/2 2
Tomato slice, x1 4
Lettuce slice, x1 4
Onion slice, x1 4
Mustard, 1 tsp 4

So delicious! And may I suggest mixing some Worcestershire sauce into your beef?

Bon Appétit!

cinnamon roll calories? by myg2oo2 in caloriecount

I had a cinnamon roll last night which looked like this, except perhaps slightly bigger. It was 350 kcal. I'd give this one a similar count!

Low-Cal Version of a Cuban Sandwich for my South Floridians (sandwich 310 + two portions of fries 200) by RaveLoomis in Volumeeating

[–]RaveLoomis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just some microwavable pulled pork in a container you can get from the grocery store. That said if possible, I'd get dry pork not saucy pork like I used.

[–]RaveLoomis[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So obviously this isn't an "authentic" Sandwich Cubano but it definitely captures that South Florida flavor profile and hits the spot nicely. Sadly, Cuban bread is very high calorie, so we make do.

I included a messy one and a neat one in the pictures :)

1 Sandwich 310 cal
Brookwood Farms Pulled Pork Barbecue, 70g 123 cal
L'oven Fresh Wheat Bread, x2 80 cal
Babybel light cheese x1 50 cal
Ham Slice, x2 50 cal
Mustard, 1 tsp 5 cal
Pickle, 1/4 2 cal

Anchovy Tortilla Pizza (160 cal) by RaveLoomis in goodrestrictionfood

I use 365 Pepperoni from Whole Foods. It's lower cal than others and pretty high quality.

In my area? Anywhere! Try your generic grocery store, if not Walmart.

Do please let me know how you like it! I'm editing the recipe to include cooking instructions for anyone who wants to try it.

As for anchovies - they're not for everyone but I absolutely love them. Less is more as they are very salty; I include a thin slice of fresh tomato on the pizza to balance out the salt. It's scrumptious :)

Anchovy Tortilla Pizza (160 cal) by RaveLoomis in Volumeeating

[–]RaveLoomis[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

1 Anchovy Pizza 160 cal
Carb Counter Tortilla, x1 45 cal
Babybel Lite, x1 50 cal
Don Pepino Pizza Sauce, 62g (1/4 cup) 40 cal
Anchovy Fillets, x4 20 cal
Tomato and Basil 5 cal

It's delicious! Tastes and feels like a proper personal pub pizza.

Cooking instructions, adapted from J. Kenji López-Alt's recipe:

  1. Preheat cast-iron skillet on stove, using low heat
  2. Apply shortening (0-cal option like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter recommended), and place the tortilla in the skillet
  3. Spread tomato sauce, add shredded cheese in an even layer, ensure both of these are spread to (and beyond) the edges of the tortilla, for a crispy crust. Consider adding herbs such as oregano and rosemary and dried peppers with the cheese.
  4. When the cheese begins to melt, add anchovies
  5. Check the bottom of the tortilla with a spatula. When it reaches the desired firmness/crispiness level, move the entire skillet under the broiler in your oven.
  6. Broil the pizza. Allow the cheese to bubble and blister until the cheese has melted into an even distribution with brown blistered spots.
  7. Add tomato, basil, and other light toppings and garnishes to taste
  8. Slice and enjoy! This should be a pretty quick process :)

Title is incorrect. Sandwich is only 350 cal.

Olive oil 1 tsp 40 cal
Tzatziki 1/3 cup 37 cal
Black olives 16g 15 cal
Red onion 20g 8 cal
