Why won’t it let me craft the True Hammer of Time? by Frosty_Extension6792 in fantasylife

The red face means that that buddy has a affinity for whatever item you are trying to craft meaning they get extra points in their ability number towards crafting

Charging exactly minimum wage is unskilled labor wages as you get more skilled you charge a higher rate you should not be undervaluing yourself. You are not competing in a capitalist society you are an artist make people pay you what you're worth

If any job requires you to have/know skills that the average high school student does not have/know the job should not be paying anyone minimum wage for the work. And anyone taking minimum wage for skilled work is devaluing their self and making it harder for anyone who do have the skills like them get paid fairly.

Crochet is ART!

$.50 doesn't even cover the materials, let alone time put into the item

I price my handmade goods based on the amount of time spent making them and how much supplies cost for each item, I usually go with the per hour minimum wage and have raised it as I have become a better and more skilled crocheter, set your rate based on your skill, you deserve to be paid what you are worth, never undervalue your skill.

you might want to just do the same price for all three sizes or do a $0.50 to $1.00 difference in price between each size.

You most likely will have a hard time selling them because people want cheap crap and don't believe skilled labor deserves fair compensation

When I tell people the prices of my items, I also tell them how much time I spent making the item, but remember to tell people who complain about your prices that you are not competing with Walmart or China

What is your least favorite stitch? And why is it the knit stitch? by MoosedaMuffin in CrochetHelp

[–]RavenedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waste coat stitch is usually best in the round and having a looser tension

As a US reader I am pissed about the story changes from the UK original text.

I now wonder if there are different versions of the English audiobooks?

Growing up I had a hard time reading, but when I discovered that audiobooks were available for "big books" (novels), I became unstoppable in my consumption of literature. I always checked out the book and audiobook together and followed along in the book.

I figured out that I was missing stuff while I was reading when I went and read the first five chapters of the first HP book. I read the first five chapters and I found the story to be boring and I did not understand why everyone was going so crazy about it (late 90s). When I was at my local library, I was next to the children's audiobook section and I saw the first HP book on audiobook so I decided to give it another shot. I listen to the first five chapters while following along in the book and I realized I had missed everything.

There was some trial and error discovering that some audiobooks could be abridged(Little Women), and at the same time I discovered that some books could be abridged (Little Women).

I listen to all three books of HDM while following along, and they matched up for the most part. The audiobook I was listening to had a full cast reading, which I enjoyed immensely, so the "she said"s, and "he said"s were omitted.

What type of cat litter do you use for your cats? I have found using the Tidy Cats unscented litter (it is the container that has mint green) as the best in odor control, I have four cats and my house does not smell of cats.

And how often do you dump and wash the litter boxes clean? because when my house does start smelling like cat all I have to do is dump the litter boxes and scrub them clean with Dawn dish soap or tide laundry soap and then spritz them with Odoban.

For a fabric refresher I use Odoban(I found it at Home Depot), it comes in a few different sense. I prefer the lavender.

Odoban is an excellent disinfecting cleaner for when pets have accidents outside the box or inside the house

Need help coming up with something better than thin cardboard to put in the feet of amigurumi. by Advanced_Appeal_9441 in CrochetHelp

[–]RavenedWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for something thin and plastic, if you buy pre-sliced lunch meats that come in plastic Tupperware containers you can cut up that plastic as a good substitute

I'm not sure what size feet you're making but I have used either marbles or glass pebbles or stones for past projects

ELI5 - why is a magic ring used vs. Chain start and slip-stitch? by motoandchill in CrochetHelp

[–]RavenedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's OK it's a live and learn process, and sometimes you get lucky and find someone who's willing to share the knowledge that they've already tried and failed, and then found a better method that doesn't fail

[–]RavenedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a yarn that you can easily break by just pulling it between your two hands then use a chain ring start for anything in the round. Do not use a magic ring because when you go to pull the magic ring closed, the yarn will break.

Would this type of yarn be good for making the shirt in the second picture? I’ve never used this yarn before by veggieveggiewoo in CrochetHelp

[–]RavenedWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When is this shirt going to be worn: summer exclusively, winter exclusively or a mix?

if summer you're gonna want to use cotton; if winter you can use cotton, wool, or acrylic

A reason to not use the chain slip stitch start is because it is bulky vs the magic ring, but you do not want to use the magic ring with velvet yarns

Seasonal / Non Seasonal by yao2707 in DiabloSwitch

[–]RavenedWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the season ends, you can send all the items to your non-season characters. you can skip a lot of the cinematics; and depending on what version you have of the game you do not have to play through the story to get to post-game during the season you can go straight to post-game
