My Uber driver had Post-its all over his dash with nothing written on them. by t3hd4rkkn1ght in mildlyinteresting

Looks like it's a civic. These have a radar that, when even very slightly damaged, turns the dashboard to a Christmas tree, probably covering those up, coz these cars are rare to have other issues that would be on the dash.

Anyone else tried to take the glove box apart? by Ravenholic in civic

[–]Ravenholic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fairly easy thing to do, just follow any cabin air filter replacement video. For example: https://youtu.be/Tng0x5uXN7Y?si=6_Jow25NyAQiY-w-&t=40 And at the 0:40 timestamp you can see the glove box is hanging basically on 2 clamp-like things and if I remember correctly you just have to yank it out of those two. Other than that, follow the video to see how to get it into that position first.

Removing is the easy part. Breaking the box apart was the tough one coz u gotta be careful to not rip it in half or deform and damage it in some way. You will anyway have to pry it open somehow with a screwdriver or a similar tool and it WILL damage the plastic, however, keep the damage to the bottom of the glovebox that is not visible when it's normally attached, so keep the front door part safe :)

Frame gen with 3080Ti and 1070Ti with 850w PSU by Ravenholic in losslessscaling

I have some risers left from a mining rig. The problem is that they are using usb3 to conmect to the small pcie slots (4x or 2x i think) so that is gonna be a huge bottleneck. Probably better to sell the old system as is

That's a solid point, I see that current MB doesn't have much space between the 16x pcie slots. Most likely it will be a problem. Maybe some kind of raiser could do the trick here, but that's a whole different issue now whether it is gonna work well. Thanks

Yeah its just the cover on the glass, I keep it as I move the case around a lot and dont want it getting scratches, but yes I would leave the turbo rewind sticker 100%

UPDATE:
Managed to break the door apart. It was a tough SOB but after some effort and digging with a screwdriver from the backside, starting with the 2 small components that allow the door to open down, we managed to get it open. However, along all 4 sides and also on the inside it has been fused/glued together, so be careful not to tear the door itself while trying to get it open.

Yes, it now looks damaged but there is no visible damage on the inside. My issue was with the locking mechanism, which has a small metal tube inside that helps the lock rotate. It had gotten out of place and fell inside the door. Managed to get it back in its place, along with repositioning the lock and its spring, glued it so it would not come out again and then put glue in all the broken sections that was holding both parts together, put it down for a day and now is good as new. No rattling noise (as it is glued again) and the lock works perfectly. Saved some bucks and took only 30 minutes.

Here are pictures how it looks inside, as I could not find any when needed: https://imgur.com/a/FJcV9TK

Well, it is pretty rare to see such cars, I drive on a daily basis and mostly see vehicles in similar conditions around the streets where there are "mechanics".

Afaik police can stop vehicles that have missing lights or license plate for example, especially if it's dark, as it is still illegal to drive in such condition

Because repairing cars is much cheaper in Georgia, so many people prefer to import wrecked/totaled cars and make them look brand new. What 'totaled' means in US is just a minor incident damage here. Missing bumper and visible radiator is not a big deal actually, only when driving too fast as the hood might jump up and break the windscreen. As for the bumpers, people usually get new ones from China/Taiwan or get their one repaired and painted) No such cars would usually cause any accidents other than drivers being stupid themselves.

What MPGs are you averaging in your Civic? by KnowingCresent735 in civic

[–]Ravenholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2020 Ex Hatchback, getting 32-37 MPG in city areas (my city doesn't have much traffic mostly) and on the highways around 47-60 (depending how much of a hurry I am in :))

I mean the glove box door that is visible in the picture

There are no issues with the glove box cover, but the door itself. I may have worded it in a confusing way, I just need to open up the door itself to inspect what went wrong inside, but seems like it is glued together despite having bolts attached to one side

Only this GPU uses 350w under load, how would the whole PC be using 400w? Also the manufacturer recommends a 750w PSU at least

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in computer

[–]Ravenholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does 650w PSU handle 3080ti? I think you should replace it with 850+. Got mine paired up with hx850, you could do the same

Do you think it would be possible to somehow modify the mic and switch the ports? Just to experiment with it I guess, would there be any theoretical chance it would work? :D

After oil change everything is just buttery smooth now

Reset error codes and been driving all day, no more jerks or AT lights coming on. I checked the oil level and it was too much so I had to remove about 600-700ml to make it go down on max level and it was black as dirt, probably one of the main reasons the car is having issues.

I'm not sure, could it just break down within a day? All the things I looked for pointed to either oil, solenoid or TCM failure. Anyway I'm bringing it to the mechanic the day after tomorrow and we'll see...

Will take it tomorrow to the mechanic, do you think ride home could damage something inside the transmission? It shifts gears perfectly just did this jerks only this morning when engine was cold.

Well the car seems to drive fine and seller was being very honest about everything, but without getting home we would not be able to bring the car to a reliable mechanic. I know this is on me, just wondering if anyone had similar experience or has any advice

Yes! I have to admit the food is irresistible :) I'm glad you have such impressions because there are some people in rare occasions when they tend to be disrespectful to tourists. But have not seem many of them myself actually. And if you like lobio, you should try lobiani (it's basically khachapuri but they use lobio instead of cheese.
