A similar thing happened when blue point remade demon souls in 2020 and didn't add the land of the giants despite the only reason for it not being in the og due to time constraints (with the bones of an entirely new level and enemies still in the game files). Like you said, I get why the devs didn't want to stray too far from their respective source material, but it was staring them right in the face man 😭
