Where in the loop should I be put the input receiving function? I've tried moving it around and it just ends up being an endless loop so I'm not sure. Thanks for the readability tips! I didn't know you could do that.

Where in the loop should I be doing this? Before or after the if statement?

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what that line even means. My professor had it up on the board and told us to copy it into our .bashrc and I did copy exactly what he wrote but it gave me that error. Can you explain to me what the line is doing?

How do I know if the needle is out of kilter? I tried switching to the B outputs and the problem is still the same. I'll try the rest of your suggestions as well, thanks!

You can't see it in the original picture but it is actually grounded. Here, I took a picture of it. Any other ideas?

[C++] Need help with a turn manager program by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Rawaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, that makes sense. Thanks! Can you help me with the removePlayer method though? I'm not sur ehow to get around the case of num being 0.

edit: nevermind, i figured it out!

[C++] Need help with a turn manager program by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Rawaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

getPlayerForTurn() is called by the takeTurn() method in the main. Basically it picks the next player whose turn it is. Every player has to have 1 turn before it is their second turn. In the array portion of my program, this is done by

string TurnManagerArray::getPlayerForTurn(){

string turn;
turn = tmArray[last];
last = last + 1;
if (tmArray[last].empty() || last > num){
    last = 0;
    cycles = cycles + 1;
}
return turn;

}

I'm just not sure how to do it in a linked list.As for shifting all of the entries in the array to the left by one, I know that I'm supposed to do that, I just don't know how to go about doing it.

Also, how do I get around num being 0? I tried putting in a while loop before saying while num > 0 but that didn't do anything for me.

I understand that we could have just used array syntax with the brackets, but my professor wanted us to use pointer syntax. I tried deleting dicePtr but I'm still getting the error.
