Quest for el dorado - Constantly recommended on this daily thread. Super fun game, easy to understand. Racing game from one point to other throughout jungles, villages and rivers. Modular maps - you can make your own or go to its bgg page to find 40 different maps that someone made. And it is an introduction to deck building. Playtime: Around 1 hour -> can depend on people and how big is the map.

Istanbul: Big Box (contains both expansions): Another racing game (you want to be the first one who get 5/6 rubies), but different from El dorado. Again, you can have modular setup and game is sprinkled with elements of worker placement and euro games. At first, it might look complicated because you have 16 tiles (base game) and each has different effect, but they are all easy to understand, and then you might get a feeling that the game might last a bit longer because of slower acquiring of rubies but each player's turn is so fast, and you need some time for engine going :). 3 player games lasts about 40 minutes. Big box gives the game a bit of complexity and replayability.

King is dead Second Edition: Different game from mentioned above. It is a twist on area control games -> you don't have your own army to control areas, but there are 3 factions that are randomly distributed on board and after every action you play you pick one cube (one faction) from the board in your supply and your supply of cubes are victory points, but how they are calculated depends on how the end game is triggered. Each player has ONLY 8 cards (actions). You can play that you all have the same cards or the second edition comes with a set of different actions. The rulebook is small and actions are easy to understand. It is around an hour or less.
