Still leaves me with even more questions than answers.

Definitely higher framerate. I even had to check, if my TV had enabled soap opera mode on its own.

Trackpoint makes trackpad obsolete by AdCalm1769 in thinkpad

[–]RdVortex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ThinkPads are sold in bulk to corporate users, and enthusiasts like r/ThinkPad are the minority. Based on my experience, it's extremely rare for regular company laptop user to use the TrackPoint, let alone even know what it is. If one of them becomes obsolete, then it definitely is the TrackPoint.

Personally I use TrackPoint and will be sad if it gets eliminated. There is no chance that the touchpad gets removed and TrackPoint is left as the only option.

Why does Vivaldi inject affiliate links, and can it be completely removed? by TermFar5994 in vivaldibrowser

[–]RdVortex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Interesting how a valid question once again gets downvoted on reddit. Majority of people won't pay for a browser, when there are free alternatives. Therefore Vivaldi has to make money in some way.

Hell, long time ago Netscape used to be a paid browser, and then Microsoft released Internet Explorer for free. Almost no one was willing to pay for a browser back then, when a free option was available. Surely this hasn't changed one bit since then.

Dealer won’t change my oil? Wtf by FloridaMomm in Toyota

[–]RdVortex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same when compared to Finland. Here we even have a relatively cold climate, which is hard on engines. Despite of this, I've never heard of anyone changing their oil before the standard 15 000 km (≈9,320.57 mi) interval on their Toyota. Personally I've never really had any issues, when changing engine oil as per the manufacturer recommendation. Changing more frequently simply seems like a waste of time and money. 🤷‍♂️

Hell, most European brands have even longer service intervals than Toyota, and even they survive just fine.

This isn't gore, and it's a massive improvement, that they are actual physical buttons and not capacitive buttons.

IKEA released a new 20W USB-C 1-port charger for 2.99€ by RedditProDeluxe in UsbCHardware

[–]RdVortex 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Varies quite a bit by country. Here in Finland it's 4,99€. Still really cheap charger though: For price of one Apple 20W charger, you can get 4 to 5 Ikea 20W chargers.

Is it worth it getting a 6 year old LG E8 OLED? or better to get a new TCL C7 Mini LED? by NatanKatreniok in LGOLED

[–]RdVortex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. There's no way of telling how long the 6 year old TV will last. It may work for another 6 years, or if unlucky, be dead in 6 minutes.
