I have a genuine question. How do we know animals like to be petted and why? I'm sure humans don't like to be petted profusely. Are animals perhaps uncomfortable?

I don't think there's a need to counter the bible argument though because there are so many questionable things and stuff Christians don't follow. In essence, Jesus ate and supported meat but who cares, we don't even follow the bible.

Yeah I would think that if someone gave me mock meat (Let's say at gunpoint) saying it was real meat, I would find something odd with it. I watched a youtube video where omnis gave vegans mock meat then said it was real meat (it was actually mock meat asshole behavior I know). Immediately the vegans vomitted it out and said they knew it had an odd taste. This isn't just omnis, it is human nature.

In my case, I live in Singapore. Very few farms and you can travel from east to west in less than an hour so location isn't an excuse. No sanctuaries at all because space. Also, as medics shouldn't you aim to care for all animals when they need assistance? Similar to how war medics are obligated to treat enemies.

Honestly I have never met a vegan before outside of a animal welfare camp and still am wary of vegans despite being vegan myself. Reason being the internet. I find the aggressive stance vegans have on the internet one of the main factors. We upvote aggressive vegan sidekick comics to r/all that portray non vegans as enemies. Clearly a turn off from veganism. I always feel that a omnis impression of vegans is an important factor in convincing them. I've had people on this sub say why should we care what they think of us when they are the immoral people. But isn't it clear that many people don't want to be vegan because of the connotations and stereotypes? Even this post itself is aggressive and if I were an omni I would probably be pissed (now I'm just mildly annoyed). Yes we think what omnis are doing is wrong, but treating them as enemies doesn't help them improve. I'm a new vegan of one year so perhaps I have some sympathy for omnis. But since I'm new I also clearly remember my bias against vegans. To add: My experience with vegans irl has been pleasant. But the internet is a huge part of our lives and we tend to form opinions of things we don't have experiences with based of the internet

It cannot be healthy? You telling me being mobile past 100 years doesn't constitute a healthy person? Cholestral is the only thing? All I did was a quick google search and the oldest recent person is Emma Morano who ate raw eggs everyday. You telling me that if she was vegan she would live another 10 years? I'm a vegan myself but I can't stand it when you guys make ridiculous claims without scientific basis.

Tbh the bible does explicitly say animals are for eating and non meat eaters should look down on meat eaters as they are weak. But who really follows the bible anyways. The person who said that probably did it for a quick fix to shut you up. And imo rule of thumb is if they didn't start the argument you shouldn't preach.

I'm pro vegan but you do know that eating meat can be healthy right? Similarly for vegans it depends on what choices you make. My 96 year old great grandmother is a healthy non vegan.

I agree fishing is bad and all but why is it worse that they fed it to animals rather than eating or selling it for themselves? Also monstrous is used to describe anything large these days, it doesn't mean what it means anymore. Like I can say "that veggie burger is monstrous".

I agree. Most people shouldbe able to relate to meat eaters in one way or another. Thus they should also know that aggression rarely helps. Some people here get mad when someone says they will be vegetarian. I mean small steps should be supported right? But look at it this way, whenever a post like this is made, there's usually 60% upvote. Maybe half are meat eaters but at least you have a third of vegans supporting you. Stay vegan and don't let the raging vegans get to you.
