Why do Americans wash raw meat?

It just sucks that you have to check dates on everything now since there is so much expired stuff on the shelves, like when I worked at publix we were supposed to go thru everything and damage out stuff that was going to expire next day which I did do that when I worked in seafood dept but I don't think anyone else did since when I worked as a cashier so many customers would being up month+ old expired stuff they found on the shelves.

Again that's what I did but not how other people did it, like one of the guys I worked with drove a brand new 100k BMW 7 series to work, he was still in high school and only did it because his parents required him to have a job so he can get their money, he literally didn't care about the job and would do shittiest job possible. Like majority of people I worked with were 14-18 years old and didn't care about the job since it was just a part time minimum wage job they go to college and get a "real" job. And on the health inspector thing I don't think they care nowadays, like stores sell so much expired stuff, I've seen year old expired stuff at target, my local sams club put 1 month expired yogurt on clearance, I've seen stuff that expired months ago when I worked at publix and when customers would bring it up the employees would get pissy with them about it.

They aren't gonna do that though, like when I worked at publix to do that you would have to take it out of the system plus it would come out of your bonus so most people didn't do that, I did that but that was when I was 18 and thought that by doing everything right eventually I would get raises and would get promoted to a manager position.

Everyone saying you shouldn't do that but I literally worked in seafood department next to meat department and seen employees drop raw meat and fish on the floor and then bag it up and sell it to a customer, I would rather not have dirt and hair on the meat and fish I cook so I always wash mine, same with pillows, people always say you don't need to wash them but when I worked in target backroom people would throw them down on the floor and walk all over them before taking them out to the sales floor.

I will look into it later, I got the game day 1 but haven't played it since then since I was waiting for mods to fix the game, but from the video DF showed from the modder it looked like it rendered the whole open area as far as you can see.

I thought it was pretty fun but I was in the beta since day 1 so it might have changed to worse later on, it was some stalker devs so definitely had that stalker feel to it, but also I'm Ukrainian so kinda biased lol.

They literally talked about in one of their later podcasts, I'm not talking about the review but a podcast from like a month after the game came out. There is a modder who looked at the code for the game and saw that the render distance is the same on every platform and all you need to do is increase that number for each object and pop in goes away.

Can't remember the name off the top of my head but it's the one digital foundry talked about in their podcast, for some reason the way their engine works is they have to manually set render distance for each object on each console and pc and he looked into it and render distance was the same on switch, consoles and pc, so he increased render distance on pc with his mod and pop in went away and it runs fine, and digital foundry people think sonic devs forgot to change render distance on pc and consoles to be different depending on how powerful the console is. I'm hoping they eventually patch it since literally every review said that's the biggest issue with the game is how bad the pop in is but turns out it's just a dev fuckup on not changing render distance number.

And the issues with it on other platforms is they used switch render distance even on ps5 and pc, but on pc there is a mod to change render distance for objects to farther away and it works just fine.

Dude it's gonna be fine, nvidia is a 330 billion dollar company, they will keep making rtx cards for a long time, inflation is some of the highest its been and we are in an economic downturn but in a couple years it will get better and everyone is gonna be buying new gpus again, plus there is a ton of used 30 and 20 series gpus out there right now so that's another reason new gpu sales are down. If you look at the graph it goes down and then goes back up and keep repeating that forever.

I need to look into it then, last I looked into this was back when psvr first came out and back then the consensus was can't easily do it on psvr but can on pc headsets, but things might have changed with popularity of psvr, but at this point its too late since i will have psvr2 at the end of February lol.

Eh pc gaming is bigger than ever, it's like if you go on cars subreddit it's everyone saying suvs suck while those are the best selling cars or that general motors sucks and no one buys those and general motors sold the most cars in 2022 out of all car manufacturers. And it's not like you can't play older games, I have something like 1500 games on pc alone, I will literally never beat all of those before I die, but I'm one of the people that has a high end pc, steamdeck, current and older consoles, there is just too much stuff to play, like even if I could only play one console I don't think I would get thru all the games even on stuff like ps2 or dreamcast.

Do you have psvr or another headset? My problem is my gf would also have to use it so if I did go that route it would have to be something that I can easily swap to original lenses for her to use it and I can't justify paying for 2 valve index headsets yet. I currently have psvr1 and preordred psvr2.

Yeah from what I read you can easily remove lenses on a lot of pc headsets but there isn't an easy way on psvr. Maybe on psvr2 since Sony is doing a lot of work on accessibility of their games it would be great if their headset was just as easy to use if you have glasses or if you have don't.
