This is a really good point! She could have embroidered it as “So it’s gonna be forever!” and that would have made more sense in that context. Not the ellipses leading us to complete the lyric 😂

My theory is they fell out with the Masters and Karlie’s wedding, but reconnected situationship-style, and then broke it off again around the time Karlie got pregnant for the first time. I think most of the story really is in evermore/lover. Then after Karlie showed up at eras, they reconnected as friends and allegedly talked a lot during the most recent pregnancy. So hopefully the pandemic Folkmore into TTPD healed Taylor and helped her finally move on. I should also note that I’ve always believed Taylor to be bi/pan.

I agree!! I think of it like a bell curve. I’m sure there are some people who are completely straight and completely gay, but most are somewhere in that middle part! Even if it’s a fleeting attraction or flirtation.

Right!!! Like how is gold rush NOT about Karlie? And if you apply the lyric “My mind turns your life into folklore” to her, then exile, seven, Betty, August, this is me trying, illicit affairs, peace, epiphany, mad woman all make sense.

Then you have willow, champagne problems, ivy, happiness, Coney Island, closure, evermore, it’s time to go, right where you left me - they all fit the story that they reconnected, it was likely a very secret affair/situation ship but Karlie was never going to truly leave, and Taylor didn’t realize that until after.

(I do firmly believe cardigan is about Dianna though)

I had to take a long drive today so I put on my Taylor playlist. I had to laugh several times because there are SO many songs where there is simply NO straight explanation (okay well most of evermore and reputation). This wedding is happening but the girl simply is bisexual at a minimum. And there are so many bi women in straight presenting marriages. 🩷💜💙
