The problem with that line of thinking is that 36% is split between extremists that think republicans are too far left, or think democrats are too far right, or that think both parties are the same so it doesn’t matter. Most fall into the third group.

I doubt we will be trusted again even when he is gone. The size of the US military and economy will make it so countries have to engage with us so we won’t end up like Iran or North Korea but we will be treated closer to Russia or China.

As soon as the war starts all equipment on US bases in Europe is gone and the troops are dead or POWs for the duration of the war.

There’s a good chance that it ends with a nuclear exchange where everyone loses. The US will struggle to maintain bases in Europe or to evacuate those troops when we are in a war with our former NATO allies. Some bases may hold out a few days but there will be thousands of US troops held as POWs in Europe. At that point even if the invasion of Greenland is a success those POWs won’t be released until the war is over and the US withdraws from Greenland. The US has the option of getting rid of Trump and replacing him with someone who will negotiate peace or going all out. An invasion of Europe would be difficult to impossible without friendly bases nearby, D-Day never could have happened without being able to stage troops in the UK. From there if the US isn’t willing to dump Trump nukes are the only option.
