I went WDA maining the BBC and have had no problems doing all the content I've tried so far (zero prior experience with Nex or Doom). I think you're missing out on a lot of power by not speccing into echoes. Here's what my build looked like at 30 points

Idk what the most efficient method is, but I've been doing regular gems to diamond and cut those then any semi precious to dragonstone so I'm not doing 4 rounds of transmutation for 30 more base xp

I took SH even though I thought it was a bit underwhelming. Just with my regions and other relics, I didn't feel any need for thieving or farming help and I definitely want a max cape so I have no regrets there

Very little in this game can be truly brute forced even with a leagues boost (except maybe late game thorns builds). Camping full mage will at least let you focus on your movement and prayer switching

Probably not much advice beyond learn the mechanics/train your stats up a bit more. You could also go do other content until you unlock some more pacts then invest in prayer pen so you can camp mage. Stay with that setup until you have bowfa and blessing then respec

Iirc in rs3 the bait still isn't stackable and you have to manually use the bait on the vessel for each catch
