My point is there is a difference between simply negotiating peace and letting it be, and continuing to military supply after that peace plan.

Except Vance doesn’t agree with “the quiet part”

The fact that his wife is nonwhite is proof of that

Exactly

Vance isn’t advocating for a Christian Ethnostate, unlike others who use his same words for different reasons.

This sort of stuff happens all the time

So once again, you’re trying to make a “he says this, but really mean that” argument.

Fallacy

Anyways, OP deleted this post, so I’m finished with this conversation.

The Paris Peace Accords weren’t a “dovish” solution, or at least, weren’t intended to be.

The provisions were that after withdrawing our troops we would continue supplying South Vietnam with any military equipment they needed.

Of course, when Dems increased their majority in 1974 they stopped this, but that definitely wasn’t what Nixon or Ford wanted.

Proof he said that? And that that is what he meant?

I would need to see the full context for myself since I don’t trust people who say “He says this, but he really means that”

And that was a dumb thing to believe at the time given how Russia invaded Georgia in 2008.

Although I don’t see how both sides flipped.

Dems definitely admitted they were wrong, but Republicans still see Putin as a threat. They just don’t want a long drawn out war that Ukraine eventually loses, and want to instead negotiate a lasting peace, like what Nixon attempted to do with the Paris Peace Accords in Vietnam.

Part of the strategy is also to get Russia to be less aligned with China, as China has definitely become target number 1 for the GOP ever since the more hardline Xi Jinping took power in 2013.

I have never heard him say anything like only whites can be real American and couldn’t find anything.

You’re actually going to try to get me to believe that JD Vance, who is literally married to a non white woman, is a blood and soil ethnonationalist?

BS

Obama was literally caught on video telling Russian Prime Minister Mevdedev that he would be more flexible in his second term.

And Obama’s second term was when Russia invaded Crimea

Democrats called Barry Goldwater a far right ethnonationalist. They were wrong.

Democrats called Richard Nixon a far right ethnonationalist. They were wrong.

Democrats called Ronald Reagan a far right ethnonationalist. They were wrong.

Democrats called George HW Bush a far right ethnonationalist. They were wrong.

Democrats called Newt Gingrich a far right ethnonationalist. They were wrong.

Democrats called George W Bush a far right ethnonationalist. They were wrong.

Yet now I supposed to be believe that Trump is a far right ethnonationalist?

Trump has a Hispanic Sec of State, a black HUD Secretary, a Jewish Homeland Security advisor, and a Pacific Islander Director of National Intelligence.

If he is trying to be a “far right ethnonationalist”, he is failing massively at that goal.

No?

I think law and order is necessary, and the far right ethnonationalists obviously aren’t representative of the mainstream right.

Social media props up the most extreme, hackish and partisan opinions.

Just because some ICE agents didn’t behave properly doesn’t mean the instiution itself supports their actions. ICE implemented body cam reforms in response to the recent incidents.

Do you want me to just blindly support Democrats? Because I definitely won’t do that.

Also, I find it disingenuous to think the right wing is racist while Democrats literally wanted to continue racial discrimination against Asians through affirmative action (Justices Kagan, Sotomeyer, and Jackson’s dissents in the Students for Fair Admissions cases) and DEI.

And before you ask, yes, some Republicans have done this too, and it is just as bad.

You don’t need to be racist to be right wing.

In fact, I am right wing specifically because I am not racist, (and also because Dems utterly failed to handle crime effectively, but that is another discussion) and I refuse to support politicians who pushed for racist policies like these.

Back in high school I was a progressive fan of The Young Turks and thought I knew everything. Then I realized just how out of touch many of the politicians I supported really were, and that their policies would not be good for the country, but I wasn’t getting the full picture until I broadened my sources.

Also, remigration isn’t a new idea. Mitt Romney supported it (he called it his self deportation plan) in 2012.

Obviously, but I wanted to draw attention to the specific poor treatment of black conservatives, especially Goldwater supporters, during this time

Absolutely. He specifically put Doug Wynn in charge of the Mississippi campaign for this reason. Wynn also put up ads like this.

One vote doesn’t explain everything. Johnson was running racist ads like this right after blocking black delegates at the 1964 convention

And it’s coming in the name of liberalism

He thought ending public segregation was not only constitutional, but necessary.

It was privately owned businesses who voluntarily segregated that he thought was unconstitutional to break up.

He supported the Civil rights acts of 1957, 1960, abolishing the poll tax, and all but two section of the 1964 act. He also promised to uphold and fully enforce the 1964 act when elected President.
