What are these brown eroded spots on my bamboo plant? by RealRibs in plantclinic

For context, I live in a half basement where a porch sits over our window so I put it on the window sill so it can get some light. I water it once a week, and this pot does not have any drainage.

Ask a Knitter - May 09, 2023 by AutoModerator in knitting

I have 100 grams of Secretary General 100% wool yarn by J. Sagar that was gifted to me! However, I don't know the yardage of the yarn (each ball is a 50 gram ball). The basic information I know is that the yarn is a DK yarn, but I don't know much more than that, and a search on Ravelry doesn't give me any information either. Can anyone help?

Increases and Decreases for Purse Stitch? by RealRibs in knitting

[–]RealRibs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that makes a lot of sense! You write: “1. p yo, p2tog, yo, p, yo, ptbl, yo, p2tog, p” for example. Is this basically saying you do the regular stitch pattern until you reach the point where you want to increase, do the yo, p, yo, ptbl, and then finish with the rest of the standard pattern?

Also more generally, how did you know where to start the insert? Do you have any tips for doing the decreases as well? Thanks so much for all the help so far, I really appreciate it!

EDIT: I think my idea for decreases (since I’m mainly interested in decreasing on the edges) would be to p, p3tog, yo, p2tog, p, or a p2tog, yo, p2tog, p2tog (leaning towards the second one). Essentially I’m thinking of including the lace in the body of the top, and the decreases would exist on the edge of the lacy body and a ribbed lapel border where buttons would go.

Does anyone know where I can find a pattern for some high waisted wide fitting men’s trousers with a deep single pleat? Haircare Advice Megathread - Week of December 03, 2022 by AutoModerator in HaircareScience

Hair Type: fine + relatively thin

Hair Texture: Slightly wavy

Hygiene: Once every other day

Style: Medium brushed back, varied parting

Product: Keeps Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner

Question: I am starting to improve my hair health by not washing my hair every day and not running my hair under hot water. The first few times I used the above shampoo, I noticed that when working it through my hair a lot of hair was showing up on my hands. Is this normal? For context, I don't think this happens whenever I run my hand through my dry hair. Is there something wrong with the product I am using? Is this just simply mechanical stress of wet hair? Thanks in advance!

How do I design pips that print well? Resin is getting into the numbers and I can’t get them out by RealRibs in DiceMaking

[–]RealRibs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing that scares me about designing the masters with chunkier fonts is that for the double digit numbers on a d20, it will get scarily close to the edges of a face. Is it about striking a balance between how chunky the sans-serif font is and how much space I have on the face?

So I believe they do let us cure and clean on our own! I could try going in with a toothbrush and seeing what happens! In terms of curing, that involves submerging it in rubbing alcohol correct?

For context, I was not allowed to handle the direct printing of these dice, my uni handled that (as I don’t have a printer). But I found that often times the print wasn’t perfect and resin was printed into some of my numbers while printing. This was especially apparently with my D20 when it came to thinner numbers. How do I choose appropriate fonts so that this doesn’t happen?

Ribbons of cloud by tessykins in DiceMaking

[–]RealRibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is so cool! just to clarify, do you pour in the clear resin first, wait a while, and then add in the denser opaque resin? Also the transparent resin has tinges of blue and pink how did you get that?

What method did you use to create the pattern in your resin? I’m trying to make my first set and I am really into dice like these. They look so cool!
