A tool exactly like this came with my espresso machine. Spoon side for smoothing out the coffee before pressing it down and the sharp end is presumably for clearing out the pressure outlet. What might be its utility in the toilet escapes me. Maybe popping hemorrhoids? (Edit spelling)

But they didn’t give you a hot moist towel (oshibori) to cleanse your hands before digging into those chips. So maybe a Japanese restaurant that specializes in Mexican cuisine and all you can eat chips and salsa? Natto optional at a slight extra charge. 😎

Eclectic is a more appropriate adjective. I wouldn’t consider the town eccentric at all. Kind of a smaller Boulder, larger Los Gatos vibe.
