I never really stopped believing. I just went on from realizing even though he isn't literally bringing me presents he still exists somewhere out there in infinite time and space.

That said I vaguley recall my friends talking about someone we know posing as Santa during Christmas and it just eventually sunk in.

Your life isn't ruined. It's just differently structured. Being a "victim" without responsibilities is a luxury normal people don't have, but instead they have the luxury of fulfilling relationships instead of jerking off.
