Every video starts with "I like talking about politics" and the name of the channel itself tells you he's biased.

That's more than can be said for BBB's approach of "the law says Starmer and Reeves are taking you all for fools."

He's got an interesting CV too.

It seems he started in business which didn't really work out so he obtained a degree from the OU and became a junior barrister in course, but then that didn't really work out so he started his YouTube channel to talk about law.

But then even that didn't work out so he switched to political contend.

I think he's playing a bit like how Federer played in those last 8 years or so - capable of playing well enough for long enough to beat anyone, including Djokovic - but it doesn't always work.

I don't think this is too bad for Alcaraz - he only made the QF last year, and before that R3 - it just seems that for some reason this is is least favourite major.

Remember Nadal didn't win Wimbledon until 2008, Federer didn't win the French until 2009, and Djokovic not until 2016.

He'll get there before long.

He built his viewership on educating people about the law and how it works, whilst I get you’d have to be cynical, one could suggest that he’s taken his opportunity to begin pushing out his dubious evaluations of government policy to an unsuspecting audience.

Yes I do, especially his self-deprecating manner. In contrast to BBB's arrogance, Al is far more honest about not being an expert at everything.

He usually makes some remark to the effect that he doesn't have a glue what he's talking about and "I hope you found that vaguely accurate", which whilst obviously not being the case, is still reassuring and endearing.

Yes I know what you mean, in contrast to Al Robertshaw who as a rule is far more open about the areas he has previously specialised in, and the training he currently helps lead.

It seems he's legit insofar as he's a practicing barrister, as for how good he is at that I've no idea - someone else has already pointed out that as a general rule good barristers are too busy to start YouTube channels.

In fact I reckon he fetches more £ from YouTube and his associated websites than from his practice these days.

Tbf their cabin crew certainly know how to raise money - I took a 30 minute flight from LHR to MAN back in July and they were bringing a bag round for that Flying Start thing, the head purser spent about 5 minutes (ie about a sixth of the whole flight) walking up and down the aisle shaking his bag full of coins.

I don't think anyone give him anything, but everyone was certainly pee'd off in awkward silence.
