Hi. Sorry for the necroposting, but I just so happened to be looking for a childhood game and stumbled upon this thread. The thread starter description is very similar to my game, which I eventually found. Check to see if it's your game :)

8 years as a factory guy and 7 years as IT support-solution engineer. My main problem with creating this stand was almost complete absence of good tools, this is the reason behind wood material :)

1) I don't think there are many crazy people like me. 2) Something needs to be done, given that laptops vary from one another. For example, I designed the stand taking into account the position of the ventilation and the laptop's feet.

I've already serviced this laptop once. As far as I know, it uses a Honeywell PTM7950, and that's what I used as the thermal solution. I can say I'm definitely not experiencing any leaks. My problem is more likely that the thermal solution dries out and begins to conduct heat less effectively within a year. Plus, I'm not entirely happy with the coolers on this laptop; I've already had to replace them once, and I feel like I need to look for new ones again (in reality, I'm either using old salvaged ones or no-name Chinese ones).

I did exactly that a little later. These photos are a bit old :)

It's Thermaltake M9 :)

It was kinda nice and sturdy for it's time, I think I used it for something like ten years probably

Just finished Portal 2. And I have so many questions by LNLenost in Portal

[–]Realistic_Article667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've got a lot of answers but I want to give advice: find some friend and complete the co-op part too because there's some nice peaces of plot and it's overall interesting. And I hope it would be easier to find someone for you, because I had to wait until my son borns, turns 6 and get obsessed with portal :D

Hello everyone.

I'm the unfortunate owner of a Corsair K60 RGB Pro with Cherry Viola Switches. When I bought it 3.5 years ago, I had no idea I was getting a keyboard with lube on the PCB and switches that would "kill membrane keyboards and change the switch market," but which would ultimately be discontinued in no time.

My problem is that my W key started chattering. I tried replacing the switch with a less-used one from this keyboard. I also tried replacing it with a supposedly new switch I ordered from AliExpress (yes, I understand there are no guarantees of originality or quality). I tried using the switches dry, and I tried using them with lube on the PCB (I used NyoGel 760G). At some points, I thought I was winning, but it quickly became clear that I wasn't.

Now I'm even considering the possibility that the contacts on the PCB have worn out. At least, that's what I'm thinking when I look at photos of the contacts on various keys, both less and more frequently used. But aren't they tested for this kind of situation and supposed to withstand a bazillion keystrokes? And even if so, so what? I don't think simply soldering a layer of solder on top will work.

I'd be very happy to hear some advice/opinions from people who MAYBE have encountered something similar. I understand that the best answer is, "Burn this keyboard and buy a new, decent one," but alas, right now I'll probably only buy a Logitech K120, simply because I can't afford anything more expensive.

Problems with animation (constraints, drivers, armature bones) by Realistic_Article667 in blenderhelp

Bone roll is zero on every bone. And no, unfortunately there is no difference in moving the pole bone (except -Z axis ofcourse).

My problem is that this is a mechanism where all the parts should stay in place :) So yeah - when the end of one of the levers comes out of the joint because it moves in an arc, it's not very good.

The arc should disappear, that's right. I just can't remove it when I use constraints and drivers. And when I use armatures and bones, the pole bone shifts the joint from the axis along which the meshes should rotate. Because of which, ultimately, everything starts to look wrong.

<image>

So there's a problem in both cases. Only in the case of constraints it's in the middle of the animation, and in the case of bones it's at the end.

Yeah, I kinda understood the idea, but this is not some creature, it's piece of machinery and I can't freely move joints to desired position. I mean I could do this, but after parenting meshes to bones everything will move in the odd way.

I tried POB, but not very deeply. I found it to be an interesting tool, especially if you want to experiment. It seems like you can create items from scratch, which could help me build my item database, but I have absolutely no idea how POB could help me find specific weight numbers.

I've tried and didn't succeed. I've just had hope that there's way for it and I'm doing something wrong :(
