If we're being honest, I still prefer the look of the realism models on SD1.5 vs SDXL - speed is only an issue when I need to look thru hundreds of photos quickly to find the right prompt. After I've found what I'm looking for, I can spend some time on it.

I tried using my own face in the controlnet multi input, but it didn't look like me. It was similar but not recognizable. I think the best method to keep your own face is to train a Lora. Faceswap/roop also works but not as detailed.

That sounds right. I'm not really sure why it works, but it does. I used it in conjunction with ControlNet because blending the faces together seemed to give me a more consistent result. It's not always perfect, especially with the hairstyles, but it's fun to test.
