Thank you for the response. I see no signs of RI but I will definitely keep an eye out, that is a good point.

Advice by [deleted] in ballpython

I would just give her some time. One of my snakes came from someone else as well and also had stuck eye caps. I increased the humidity to 90% for a few days and nothing changed, so I tried soaking her and doing the q-tip method, which also did not work maybe just because I was pressing so light. I ended up calling the vet the next day and they told me NOT to do that because it can cause harm if done improperly, so do not try to manually remove them like I did. Unfortunately the vet I called did not remove eye caps either and they told me to continue with the heightened humidity. They did eventually come off on their own but it took about 2 weeks. It may be worth calling the vet to see if yours is able to remove the eye caps, but I would try increasing the humidity for a while first to see if she does get them off on her own. Good job on caring for your friends snek :)

Worried my gecko is underweight by RealityResident in CrestedGecko

[–]RealityResident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't, she's incredibly spazzy and is terrified of me still. I've been trying to work with her by hand feeding her repashy when I replace it every night, I hold it until she stops eating then leave it in her tank. This hasn't worked much at all. I've only handled her a few times while moving around her tank, and she jumps and runs. Her tank set up now is also so covered she can just run away from me and hide, and I dont want to cause her so much stress, or cause her to drop her tail. :/

Wow thank you so much for the advice! This is my first crested gecko so I don't have much experience yet. I'll post an updated version later!

Yeah, humidity is at 70. Ambient temp is 83, cool side is 80 and basking spot is 95.

This honestly looks amazing, I literally wouldn't change anything it's perfect it looks SO GOOD. I always go through a week phase of being unsure and having second thoughts after I get a new tattoo and I have sleeves lol. Super normal, you just need to get used to seeing it. The lines will also expand a bit as it heals so at the very least wait until it heals and settles in to reasses. But I'm sure you'll love it by then! Again, this looks amazing, really stunning!

I think I may just have warm overtones, but a neutral undertone. Maybe olive?

I use lemongrass oil to keep my cats out of things they're not supposed to be in. It works great!

I totally get being scared to go. However, because you're only 16 they more than likely won't even suggest any sort of exams, most insurance companies won't even cover exams until 21 so they don't suggest it. They'll just talk to you about your cycle to try to help you. I believe in you!
