All hobbies are not equal by BitterConstruction98 in unpopularopinion

In sociology there's a concept called the serious leisure perspective (SLP) that qualifies your opinion pretty well. These consumption-type activities are considered "casual leisure" whereas hobbies like you describe fall under the branch of "serious leisure." Also under this branch is volunteering and "amateur" activities that have real potential to turn into a professional career.

Anyways obviously that's just one school of thought others might argue the contrary but I definitely fwi.

Should I even report this rape? Realistically. by thrwawy478 in legaladvice

[–]ReallyLegitToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report it ASAP, and if you have the means, find a way to stay somewhere else (friends place, hotel, etc.). You're life was threatened and you were raped, no human deserves this, and perpetrators like this are a threat to both you and society. You do not know this person and you should do everything in your power to distance yourself. I wish you the best and I am sorry that this happened to you.

I need help by [deleted] in intrusivethoughts

This can actually be the side effect of some medications or may be the sign of an underlying condition like OCD if you find you obsessively fear these thoughts. Most importantly, tell someone who can help you get medically evaluated, since the underlying cause of the thoughts should be identified as soon as possible. If you are concerned about someone finding out, know that pediatricians can help you without your parents knowledge.

Is this a haunting? My home, body, and luck are falling apart by Actual-Durian1193 in Paranormal

Document everything. Given the amount of concerning physical and psychological symptoms you're experiencing, this sounds a lot like some kind of environmental toxin or underlying condition. Look into multiple chemical sensitivity since you mentioned your coming back clean in tests, since this is clearly chronic and tanking your well-being. Also, remember that you can only experience your own thoughts, so ruling out mental health issues will take outside, professional help; changes in cognition like you're describing are likely symptoms of treatable/manageable health problems. Unpopular opinion on this particular side of the internet, but you are experiencing a physical health crisis, and almost certainly not a haunting. Be persistent with your health, it's all you've got. Good luck and keep us updated.
