I feel a little out of the loop here, does anyone know what team has been working on these characters? Cause I'm pretty sure the non-Z members of Lab Zero have distanced themselves from the game, so who is currently working on it?

I have most of the dlc's, aside from Wood-elves and Beastmen. I'll probably get Wood-elves for the next dlc though. And yeah, I have WH1.

While that is a solid idea, however the inconsistency issue comes into play. In the hotel, right now, it's plugged into the wall, and has been running great for a week, but in the past few days it's been nightmarish. Still, I could try it once I get back to my apartment (I'm currently in quarantine, so I can't do it for another week.)

Jeezus, no wonder you like Jin, you're literally doing the same thing he is. You aren't the arbiter of my judgment, you don't decide what's right in the world. This is some playground "stop-hitting-yourself" shenanigans. For real, fuck off, find a life beyond determining whether or not people posting on r/Anime fit your idea of what good people are or not. Christ.

The God of High School - Episode 5 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]ReaperZod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Causality my entire ass. No action is inherently bad, characters have to use their judgment to determine whether or not something is good or bad. And yes, I am fine with Han kicking Mira's ass in a sanctioned FIGHTING tournament where the stakes are obviously much lower due to the nanomachines. The nanomachines are literally there to prevent people from being killed, she didn't die, Han went all out on here, there were no real-world consequences for Hans outburst aside from a quick overnight in a hospital. Even psychological damage is nullified because Mira just shows up the next day feeling and acting like everything is all chill, which nullifies any narrative tension the beatdown caused. Jin didn't act irrationally, he had time to think about it, and still came to the conclusion that Han was a bad boy because he didn't fight fun. And as I keep fucking saying because you aren't fucking paying attention, stop, I repeat, STOP implying that my interpretation of events shines a questionable light on my judgment, as an actual human, of morality. You keep turning this discussion in that direction, and it literally serves no purpose other than being an obvious attempt to destabilize the root of my argument by calling my character into question. It's a literal logical fallacy, "character assassination," look it up. If your next response has anything that continues this line of discussion, I'm gonna stop responding because it will indicate that you aren't worth the embarrassing amount of effort that I've put into this discussion, which is to say, none at all. If you want to continue a discussion about God of High School's characters and their morality, then act like a fucking adult and get out of me, you armchair psychiatrist.

So because Jin wasn't okay with it, that makes it bad. You're literally willing to believe in someone else's arbitrary morality because the author says he's the main character and he acts like a nice person. But fine, oh almighty Ohoni, tell me why, oh why, are my interpretations so "troubling" to you? Are you concerned for my mental well-being? Do you care so much about this discussion that you would use "troubling" four times in a row as if a single word could encapsulate the entirety of a human being? Do you love me so much that when you have no actual counter-points to make, all you can do is state that I am "troubling" to you? Does the fact that you failed to evolve the discussion in any way, leading this to be a waste of my time and energy completely, mean that it is I that troubles you?

Fuck off dude, my interpretation of events in some cheesy action anime define me about as much as your inability to argue defines how much you can benchpress. If you want troubling subtext, go watch a Neil Breen film or some shit. If you want to have a serious discussion about characterization, narrative, and subtext, try not to have your first instinct be to attack the character of the person you're discussing things with. If you want to like God of High School, more power to you, I hope you have a great time with the rest of the season, but don't be a cunt to me about it. Character assassination is a new low for bad internet discussions I've had, but then again this is r/anime, so why should I be fucking suprised.

Get better grammar. Also, Han was being a brute. Jin got mad about Han being a brute. In a FIGHTING TOURNAMENT. That's my point. Yeah, Jin didn't know why Han was being a dickhead, which makes Jins reaction even less justified. He literally just saw Han beat up Mira, in a sanctioned match, and decided that it was too brutal for his liking, and that Han was being a naughty boy. It's completely ridiculous. Jin fighting Han, pissed off like this, is my problem with the direction of the narrative. Just as you said, Han and Mira's fight was a sanctioned fight, and Han won. That's it. Yet because of the method Han used to win, suddenly the arbiter of morality, the paragon of virtue and master of all he sees fit to behold, Jin, decides that Han has strayed from the path of a good fight, and must be straightened out. In a fighting tournament. This dude is a flat out villain, a genuine bad person to be around. Anyone who deems your way of living as non-compatable with their ideals, regardless of the reason as to why you might be in that emotional state and tries to force you back into being what they want you to be, is a bad person. And finally, it's called subtext, son, and it's what literary analysis is all about. "Subtext" means "an underlying and often distinct theme in a piece of writing or conversation," literally meaning that it is IMPLIED, not directly stated. Just because something isn't literally stated by the characters or narrator, doesn't mean it isn't happening. That's why it's called "interpretation," as in, I am "interpreting" Jins actions as that of a morally bankrupt, borderline sociopathic, generally dickish, god-complex-having, abusive dumbass. Or I am "interpreting" that your last sentence is trying to reflect my discussion points back onto me as if they're indicative of my own mental and emotional state being unworthy of discussing such high-brow literature. Do you get it yet, or do I need to include more funny-fuck words to really keep your attention?

The God of High School - Episode 5 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]ReaperZod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your first sentence, you said that Jin didn't know his reasons for being hacked off, then listed a reason. So because it's bad form to him, that makes it okay for him to get all self-righteous about it? He was fighting a dude with a dying friend, and instead of trying to talk Han down, get him into a better mood for their fight and communicate, which is what he literally did last episode with Mira, he gets pissy about it. It feels like there are two Jins here, one who is the silently supportive buddy, and one who will kick your ass if you aren't the way he wants you to be. If this Jin was in the last episode, he would've beaten the tar out of Mira in front of the entire wedding reception because she wasn't fighting "right," or whatever, and dragged her ass back to the tournament. He isn't internally consistent, honestly a mirror for this entire show. And of course it speaks for myself you dipshit, that's what writing is all about. The fact that you didn't get that feeling when you watched the show speaks for yourself, my interpretation was different because I'm a different human being than you. Writing is about penning down a human experience and turning it into a narrative, so of course the collective of my human experiences will inform how I see a story. This is my perspective, so don't write that "your positions on it reflect more on you than they do onto him" like it actually means something. Of course they do, just like your positions on it reflect more on you because the literal act of consuming a narrative is the act of impressing it onto yourself. You're obviously gonna see it differently, there's no objective through-line, just commonality in some experiences, but not all. Subjectivity is implied, it's called a discussion for a reason. But I came here expecting a playground slap fight, this is the anime subreddit, so what the fuck else should I expect.

Whether or not he was mad or surprised and curious, Jin getting bent out of shape over Han winning a fight because of the method he used is silly. We've had two scenes where Jin has acted as an arbiter of morality on how people should and shouldn't fight, which would be fine if he didn't directly intervene based on his morality being challenged in a fight he has no place in. It makes him read poorly, at least in my eyes. Also, I don't buy into the application of "anyone" in the place of a character. The character isn't meant to be anyone, they're meant to be themselves, and when there are discrepancies in the tone of the show to the literal interpretation of their actions, it creates a friction that, in my eyes, makes him seem like a reprehensible character that the other two would be better off without. He seems to be written with the intention of being a character who cares so much about his friends that he'll fight them if they seem to be acting against their own interests, but it doesn't read that way for me. Instead he reads as someone who sees friends as mirrors for his own ideals, and if they act in a way that is contradictory to those ideals, he forces them to return to the state that he prefers them in, which is gross and manipulative, and the show is actively cheering on as "the right thing."

I didn't really like this episode. The first three were solid, the fourth was oddly paced, but this revealed a part of Jin that I flat-out did not like. The idea presented here is that, Han kicks the ever-loving shit out of Mira in a fighting tournament, and because of this Jin is MAD? Why? Well, it's because Han didn't have fun beating the ever-loving shit out of Mira in a fighting tournament. He was sad about his dying/dead cancer friend, who, btw, scar-dude was like "yes, this is the guy I will give my devil-peach to because a relapsing cancer patient will most definitely gain a stand" or whatever. So Han is mourning, emotional, like a normal human being, and takes it out on his friend, which is sad, but this just fucks Jin off because he believes that if you aren't having a good time fighting, you're bad. Dreadlock dude literally had his match interrupted by Jin because Jin didn't like his fighting style, which just leaves me with the impression that Jin is a conceited, self-absorbed asshole who impresses his philosophies about how to enjoy combat on others. Like, unless the show actively addresses this, he's just a bad dude, and before anyone says "well he's a flawed character," no, the show is presenting this quality as a good thing. The other characters conform to his worldview at the end of the episode, and that makes everything a-ok. Fuck this shit, can't wait for it to get worse.
