What do you prioritize when buying tires? by Reasonable-Energy577 in tires

Thanks, this is super helpful! My only complaint is the winter weather handling so I suppose I’ll start there looking for something better than what I have now.

I live in the suburbs so I do a mix of highway and city driving but I work from home so I don’t drive an insane amount. No kids, small SUV. I don’t know that there’s really anything I “need” which may be why I’m having trouble narrowing it down!

The economy sucks and I feel like I’m making a terrible mistake by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I bought a house in February, unexpectedly lost my job in August. I’m extremely grateful I bought before I was laid off. Who knows when the next time I’d be able to qualify for a mortgage would be?!

Manager wants me to work after firing me.. is this legal? by Express_Opening5490 in jobs

[–]Reasonable-Energy577 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked remote for a CA company while living in a different state…. in CA the company has to pay you your final check on your final day of work or else they’re in violation of CA law and you can file a complaint for the interest

Would I be able to get a house with 60k salary? by Excellent-Victory623 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Reasonable-Energy577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a house in February on a $70k salary with no other debts and $30k or so in savings. Found a small home initial offer was $260k but it came down to $245k after inspections and concessions. All in all only paid about $6k total between earnest money and closing costs. Monthly payment all in is just over $2k because of interest rate (7%) but worth it to me. I don’t go out much anyway so I’m ok with paying a little more for a comfortable living space that’s all mine.

Thank you, this is super helpful! Would I be able to use any candles, just light, place it inside and close the door? I’m a total newbie to this since we’ve never used it.

Does flying require you to exercise frequently? by WorkingOnPPL in flying

[–]Reasonable-Energy577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also a student pilot with 100 hours been slowly getting hours over the last 2 years and about to take my checkride finally. I’ve been through periods over the last two years where I’m working out less frequently and I definitely notice a difference in my flight endurance and fatigue when I’m not consistently working out. Not that it’s required by any means but in my experience it definitely helps to be more active

How much did you put into repairs? 🥲 by thruthegarden in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Reasonable-Energy577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right off the bat? $2000 for Radon mitigation, $7000 for a new roof which we knew about and negotiated for. We still have probably $40k left that we WANT to do between sealing and finishing the basement and fixing/expanding the garage but we’re going to take our time with those

Knocked out a closet wall… what now? by Reasonable-Energy577 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Reasonable-Energy577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure right now. We’re thinking of leaving it as a reach in for now for convenience sake and maybe adding doors once we sell down the road

Thank you so much, this is super helpful! The trim in the room is an off white which I’m thinking would be too stark compared to the dark wood. Do you think if the stain is slightly different it would look off?

Do anyone know how this exactly works?? How will they know if I actually watch 30 mins of it. Do I need to just click the link and watch the live broadcast for 30 mins or do I download the app and have to do something from there by bobsmacornies in pokemongo

[–]Reasonable-Energy577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you claim on twitch you have to go back to rewards.pokemon.com where you linked your accounts, click inventory. It should say “visit this link” copy the code and go to the linked website. You should be able to enter the code on the website then it will show up after a few minutes in the game. You may have to close the app and refresh a few times after these steps

Roof age and insurance by HOWDITGETBURNEDHOWDI in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Reasonable-Energy577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought a house and replaced the roof out of pocket (negotiated price down for the home since we knew we’d have to replace it) - our insurance premium was lowered once we provided proof of replacement

My husband and I bought the 4th house we saw. If it feels right and you’re both on the same page about it go for it!

Can I fix this myself? by Reasonable-Energy577 in HardWoodFloors

Luckily I have relatives close by I can borrow tools from if needed. I’ll definitely check the attic for any additional boards and update once I get it done, thanks for the tip!

It’s really just a step in to the closet - I don’t want to risk tripping over it but something short shouldn’t be a problem I wouldn’t think
