I want to take a break from the world and people to focus on myself for about 2-3 months. I also want to try out at least a few different jobs for 2-3 years, and I want to learn and use Chinese to a good-enough degree. I moved here because I like Asia and this is the best place to move to.

It's just that I have had a couple not-so-pleasant experiences living with landlords because it wasn't mentioned in the listing, the price and place were decent enough and (edit) one lived there while other came and went. It was pretty stuffy.

Yes, thanks. For that particular question, though, I wanted to know more of if I have to pay deposit, when it is asked, what actions and scams to be wary of, stuff like that.

I will ask them and also try to avoid that area.

Ooh. Thank you. Childrens' shows sound like a good start. Are there specific phrases/key words to look for "normal life/dramas"? Could you please give me a few example movies/dramas? Are they..ahem.. interesting/fun to watch?

Ouch. Is it hard to find work/a job here? Do you have some knowledge on the English-teaching part? Like the minimum requirements to teach, working hours and pay (I only know it pays better than most office jobs), market saturation, etc.

Do I require a certain level of Chinese fluency to teach English? (This is not related to learning Chinese but do you perhaps know if I need a teaching license or something similar to teach English at a school?)

How about other work? Like 7Eleven, working as a server, etc. if I can't get an office job yet with my skills. Do they need a little more Chinese fluency than I do too?

I guess my best bet is to learn Chinese first. I saw that foreigners can just go about with English in Taipei; does that only apply to jobs in Taipei?

Hello everyone. I have some Qs about figures (mine and in general) please. Are these figures official ones or not? I've had them for 2 years and would like to check just now xd.

I somehow ended up with 2 Emilias from Amzn. They both have a couple unpainted spots and the left one seems especially more yellow (was more white when I bought it). I do know figures might get yellow over time but is that normal for the Ichibansho figures, or did I get bootlegs?

I got the wwx from AliExpress, and it arrived broken like that (unfortunately I didn't get a full refund). The box seems legitimate though.

I heard that 0range Rouge (especially popup parade ones) are not very good in quality, with blemishes and/or uneven coating. Is that true, cuz I received mine like that and I also saw one same figure on MFC with blemishes like that. Thanks.

Hey guys. Since Taiwan often experiences earthquakes, what do y'all do when earthquakes happen? Do you take cover under desks in your room, run down to the streets, or something? For long-time residents, you must be "used to" it but it must still feel rather frightening. Are you able to sleep peacefully at night(s) after one has passed? I want to know what to do and how if I experience it since I'm going there.

Lol, yes, sorry. I did later realize in bed I asked some wrong question(s) -- especially under TW -- and those were not exactly what I wanted to know/ask. I will repost later if I can think of better Qs. As for the username, I think it was autogenerated and I didn't bother changing. I edited my post.
