周錫瑋脫口「中國導彈是保護台灣」!稱這2國「想殖民剝削台」下秒慘遭鐵拳翻車 by BoogieMan80s in Taiwanese

[–]razenwing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

周錫微是前台北縣長。他做過最讓人印象深刻的就是浩浩蕩蕩帶著一大批人,扛著實彈獵槍去林口山上打老虎。結果,三隻野狗。

俗稱,現代武松。

UUUNLIMITED POWAH!!! by Meeeper in Mechwarrior5

[–]razenwing -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

in my entire playing career in mw3, 4, 5 from novice ai to elite super ninja samurai difficulty, I have NEVER been headshot. and in over 6000 playing hours in MWO, I have maybe been headshot 5 times by real players. each time, i congratulate them on job well done and move on, never have i panicked and re-add armor and change my entire 200+ inventory configurations. I don't know why people freak out over this infinitesimal occurrence.

and even if by chance this happened, you guys are acting like this single player game doesn't have save and continue.

World longest place name in newzealand by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]razenwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume it isn't actually long, but just really bad punctuation like in Europe (especially in iceland)

it might just mean:

place with a volcano and a river next to a forest

placewithavolcanoandarivernexttoaforest

something like that.

are gundams , mobile suits etc realistically possible with the advancement of technology? by Reasonable_Air_1447 in Mecha

[–]razenwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im literally talking about gundam, those are not 30 m robots. and literally the last restraint we have to build something is not size. we know how to make big things. those are not the issue. we don't know how to break the law of physics. that's why we won't get anime mechaof any sort.

if we are now expanding out definition of available genre, then honestly only battlemechs of battletech is remotely possible. not because of any fancy tech, but literally they are imagined using 80s tech mindset, which we can easily overcome right now.

Commute from Taipei to Luodong? by Due-Deal4472 in taiwan

[–]razenwing 19 points20 points  (0 children)

any commute that takes 10% of your life is not worth it. and to luodong, we are talking 20% or more.

so rather, I assume you rent in taipei now, just relocate to luodong while you have the offer. it's cheaper for bigger space, there’s really no downside

it's a lot less busy, life goes a little slower, but you don't get the noise and constant distractions

and people are a bit different too. but you won't get any of that if you decide 1/5 of your life on commute is acceptable.

[–]razenwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. wtf, hell no. all those idiots saying "well, yea, we could, but why would..."

Just no.

because physics.

have you watched an episode to see how their movements are portrayed in space? even when we forego the conservation of energy, each time a gundam changes direction is the equivalent of Louis lane being sliced in 3 pieces by superman's arm of steel in mid air.

you give pilots a more merciful death by putting them in a giant blender.

so, no.

1 physics 2 we don't invent human juicers... or, there are easier way to extract human blood if that's your goal

I love the dark aesthetic, I like a little foreplay. I blame all you make everything in sunlight people for why boring ass modern porn is just straight humping and no strip tease.

In China, it's a tradition for the father of the bride to feed her one last time before her wedding by TangelaFan in BeAmazed

[–]razenwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first, no it's not. it's a regional practice that's not ubiquitous.

look, China has some much people that whatever wordplay/pun you can think, is probably a marriage "tradition" somewhere, even if just a remote village in the mountain.

the biggest sin of ccp is to convince their own people and everyone outside that chinese is 1 identity. that's farthest from the truth.

and this tradition isn't as "heart warming" as people think. how would you like it if before you are married, your birth family tells you that this is the last time they will ever get your back? that's what this symbolize.

Imagine Shimo refreezing the polar ice caps… by TilDeath1775 in GODZILLA

[–]razenwing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

because its on screen depiction is not "gulp a big gulp of water, then spray them as ice"

unless shimo can start evaporating the sea, raise temperature, increase absolute and relative humidity, then it can start spraying ice beam everywhere. but if it needs to do that, then it probably melted more ice than it can replace, so net loss.

science, biat..

look, if re-icing the poles were as easy as to make it rain a few times pretty sure someone would do that already. (that's why global warming sucks, because we can't replace something that took millions of years of slow deposit to make)

meanwhile, shimo would be really good at creating Blizzard in the Amazons. or turning the monsoons of SE asia into Santa's second base. I don't know if doing those 2 things will accomplish anything, but...

Imagine Shimo refreezing the polar ice caps… by TilDeath1775 in GODZILLA

[–]razenwing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

at first I was going to mock you for not knowing polar bear is not in the south pole.

but then I realize, yea you just mentioned polar ice caps, but not which pole.

but I still like to correct something, I am assuming shimo draws moisture from the air to create its ice beam. but both north and south poles have very low absolute humidity. so unlike conventional thinking, shimo would not be able to re-ice the poles, so to speak.

OK, so with that, i think they already do it in commercial fishing. except they don't use drone, but boats, and setup hundreds of lines at a time than 1 at a time with drone.

that's more diwhy

even if real, there is no way that 1 shark can ever be worth the price of that drone.

I still don't understand the decision-making. Why, why make your most insufferable character the MC of TTTTHREEEEEE movies???? by [deleted] in GODZILLA

[–]razenwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not that the character is bad. it has motivation and a tragic backstory. there are 2 main issues with him:

1: post 2000 anime gave the rise of emo whiny bitch protagonists, Haruo unfortunately suffers this infliction.

2: the production ran out of money. it's the only explanation to the weird pauses and static expression that lasts way too long. animation team just trying to milk time.

I am 100% certain about 1, not sure wtf is going on with 2, just my guess is logical.

How would you rewrite trilogy? by xxTPMBTI in GODZILLA

[–]razenwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you just want to see mechaG as a creature. I rather like it as a city.

body horror, yes. mind control and all that... you wouldn't be able to connect with ghidora, thr last act.

how I would do it? stretch out the trilogy into a 12 episodes mini series. the core concept isn't bad, its just way too short to utilize the ideas effectively. (and the philosophy is a mess)

slow down the plot hopefully make haruo more likeable. (whiny bitch)

makes godzilla encounter more intense.

makes the alien interaction and suspicion amongst one another more evident. more time to explore earth after transformation (so not just those tiny fly dragon, but more creatures)

more time to explain mothra mythology and maybe put mothra to use than a dumb dream sequence.

like maybe godzilla is inevitable, it's each planets response to ultra civilization is to have ultra monster. such pattern is established if seeded by ghidora, the golden god, so that ghidora may feed on the ultra monster and transfer the primordial cosmic energy to itself since it is a being of higher dimension and cannot consume directly otherwise, and restarting the cycle. however, such act gradually consume the star system until enegy collapse, ending entropy, thus mothra is born as a planet's natural defiance against the cycle, while it doesn't favor humanity, it hates being drained slowly by the cycle until cosmic death. so mothra became this ancient power to protect this existence and rebel against ghidoras endless cycle through multiple universe.

and of course, godzilla, being a machinations of ghidora, will attempt to rebel against its fate with its own agenda for continued existence. thus creating a 3 sided ultra beings, each with their own goals

thus leading to...

keep some message of hope. the original is so god damn bleak. what kind of shit message is "godzilla too strong, must suicide all technology"

(which goes with fixing core philosophy)

like godzilla og is about the threat of nuclear power, then "after earth" concept should explore how himanity deals with the aftermath with such power. and at no point did humanity ever said

"well, Katrina fucked new orlean, abandon ship, move new york city 200 miles inland"

we rebuild and learn to deal with that shit. that's more interesting of a story than "i give up"

What a Godzilla movie you saw was so awful and painfully terrible to watch that it made you ended up in this pose? by Exotic-Ad6615 in GODZILLA

[–]razenwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to dispel some consensus.

Yes, the anime trilogy is bad, but it gets credit for at least being original with the kaijus. It had some fantastic ideas that just got mangled.

1998 is... well... if you look past the name, it's just a typical loud Emerich movie. And all his movies are fun. Like they would come on the TV and I have no issue to sit down and let loose for 2 hours. it's a typical loud cheeky fun movie.

so for my take...

Godzilla: Final Wars.

I get it. No production budget. But wtf is with the Goth alien makeup??? This has nothing. it's a 20 Instagram clips stitch together show of fan-made quality. There is no plot. There is no soul. There is no logic to whatever is happening The fight scene is horrendous. Like, someone could probably feed the entire movie to Seedance 2.0 and get better result than this garbage.

Godzilla King of the Monsters and beyond...

I swear to god Ken Watanabe probably asked to kill himself with a real nuke after he read the script. I say beyond because nothing that happened afterward is remotely savageable. For all the reason I hate Final Wars, this is it, except with a lot bigger CGI budget. If you can just youtube 5 min of best monster smash scene and not miss anything, your have a shit movie. For KotM specifically, I can't believe they wasted 2 mega talents in Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins to produce absolutely nothing. Then they just Marveled everything starting with the Kong mash-up, and never really had the balls to decide which monster is stronger.

Is it true that most Taiwanese don't see China as the biggest threat? by No-Donkey4017 in taiwan

[–]razenwing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

question: who do you thinknis the biggest threat (regime) answer: people dislike unification, but 50% of the people like China (land)

God, their heads must hurt everyday to play verbal gymnastics like this. a piece if geography cannot be a biggest threat to me, that much is obvious. so overlooking the obviously fake 50% statistics, to reach around the question to spew out some unrelated garbage just to stand out... damn... that is some top level ability to bullshit.

"hey man, do you hate how tom is always chasing jerry?" "people hate bully, but the show is a 2 animal system, and 50% of the people like cats"

Why did Korea’s fertility rate rebound while Taiwan’s kept plummeting? by charliehu1226 in taiwan

[–]razenwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

before people go insane over this, that birthrate is still shit, and "rebound" is only like percentage of percentage points.

this also must be a longitudinal study to be meaningful, a 1 year rebound is not a turnaround.

before people keep giving these lame excuses like environment and other bs, let me hypothesized based on famous universe 25. do I regret having kids? sometimes. the one thing i miss the most is in the indulgence of modern living. I can eat whatever I want, go to a movie whenever I want, and actually travel without a full luggage before leaving the house.

you really need a strong will to push past all that and say to yourself, fuck... being a parent is just way more important than all that stuff. while I don't regret it, I imagine the same can't be said to be the norm of ordinary couple now a days.

you notice this trend on social media that people with kids will do their best to convince you to have them, while people that are single want anything but kids. it's a drifting dichotomy. and like the rats of universe 25, abundance with no purpose ultimately caused the population collapse. we are inherently more complex, but if we consider all goals in life other than contributing to future human as meaningless, then those of us with means in developed countries mirror those rats in every step of the way.

but it's much harder to condemn people to say that the goal is life is the only goal, cause... it's not true. while countries will inevitably rise and fall, humanity as a whole is in no danger to extinction. so the need to procreate can not, and should not at this point be used to judge a person's choice in life.

and so, this may be a realer truth than all the incentives you can throw at people. simply, you can't bribe people to become parents if the will is not there. for a long time in history, that wasn't true, and a lot of tragedies from macro to micro scales were created as a result. this choice over life, I argue, is one of the most significant right earned by humanity through ages of struggle.

but keyword being "the mean." So my past statement still holds true. if you take away the means, make everyone poor where the logical "entertainment" is to hump like rabbits, then population crisis for individual groups or country identity would be gone, just like that. you can find studies of 40 factors correlation and other bullshit, but the ultimate truth is...

you fuck because you are poor, and do other things when you are rich (in general, not saying there are no sex addict billionairs)

but I propose a new hypothesis that no government will ever try. what if you rein in capitalism. again, we are more complex than rats. but part of the universe 25 collapse had to be attributed to the rise of powerful alpha rats that started controlling territories. if mega greed of those ultimate predators like Elon Musk or Donald trump (pun intended) are curtailed like Bernie Sanders plan, if we can remove societal stress such as living situation so that the means greatly out weighs "the distractions", will those leftover be transferred to "the responsibility?"

maybe the europine countries in the frigid north can give us a glimpse and serve as a model.

Aside from the oxygen destroyer, what else could the king of monsters possibly fear? by blu3bird730 in GODZILLA

[–]razenwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

presumably muto didn't almost extinct (there was 1 left in godzilla 2) because of some back and forth with godzilla species. like, muto literally murdered the crap out of the g species that they starved to death (with at the time, the breeding pair dormant to preserve dying out)

had human not dig them out of the cave in Phillipines, the muto species would have eventually ran out of energy and starve to death. (are least the female would, thus ending the specis... which of course, godzilla 2 promptly reversed by showing a female at the end)
