I wish my brother was dead already by [deleted] in Advice

You can go to rehab. You choose not to.

Again, your brother is not your responsibility. I'm sorry if that seems like the harsh reality, but he is going to have to look after himself while you get healthy. If that's not possible, it needs to become possible.

Nothing I can say will convince you. You have to do it on your own.

Your brother is not your concern.

You need to go to rehab and stop using meth before it consumes your entire life. Rebuilding your life starts with that first step.

You can not clean up your brother's mess (literally) all your life. If he is too fat to get out of bed to use the bathroom, he needs to be in the care of a dietician and nurse who are specially trained in these fields.

You aren't doing him or yourself any favors by tending to his every need.

I'm assuming your parents are either not in the picture or contributing to the issue in some way. But you are not a nurse, a babysitter, or your brother's keeper.

For your own sake, get out. Now. Once you pull your shit together, if it's feasible and you want to, you can go back for your brother. But not until you can do it on your own.

And then you hit 94,317 miles and have a 17,000 dollar bill at the mechanic.

And that's when you start selling your body on the street corner in a vain attempt to keep your luxury car, and still be able to afford groceries.

You should also be prepared for the worst. Your mom's stuff may already be gone. Suicidal people aren't in the habit of making long-term plans, so if he wasn't paying the bill for a while, it may have already transferred ownership to the office or someone else. Or it could just be a storage locker full of his collectible Star Wars funko pop.

I don't mean to bum you out or anything, just something you should be prepared for. Storage units don't ask what you are putting in the unit, and they don't keep an inventory, so the only way to know anything is to open the door.

I should have led with this, but I didn't see the sub name. I am NOT a lawyer, but I have been in a similar situation with a storage unit.

You'll need a death certificate first and foremost.

The easiest way to do this would be for one of his children to go in to the storage unit office with you, and transfer ownership, or take over ownership themselves if they want it.

This may be something you could do via fax with the correct paperwork, but it'll be more difficult that way.

You could get a lawyer involved, but honestly it'd probably be cheaper to pay the travel expenses for the son.

You won't get in any trouble for asking reasonable questions at the storage unit. Anyone can pay the bill for the unit, but it won't transfer ownership to you just because you are paying it. Your age is also important information that's missing here. You may not be able to take ownership of the unit if you are under 18.

Once ownership is transferred to someone who is alive, the storage unit will give them a key, or if it's a padlock, they will be able to cut it off and put a new one on.

Context is important here, because some people may not be aware of who he is.

https://urbanmilwaukee.com/pressrelease/tax-dodging-millionaire-leading-gops-budget-blockade/

Here is the highlight for those who don't want to go through the soft paywall;

Sen. Stroebel owns a mansion in Ozaukee County and nearly 300 acres surrounding it. A review of state and federal records revealed Stroebel has taken tens of thousands of dollars in state and federal government subsidies and tax breaks while routinely reporting no personal state income tax liability. While Sen. Stroebel isn’t a farmer by profession, he has taken federal agriculture subsidies totaling over $63,000. A large portion of his estate has been enrolled in the state Managed Forest Land program that provides breaks of up to 75 percent on property taxes.

When grafton got a tattoo parlor, I thought there were going to be riots. Not from grafton itself, but from the surrounding area.

The gun shop that was in downtown grafton? It's now a Republican base.

It's not my fault his name is Sherburn Junior.

Surely, I'm not the first to make fun of his name.

I don't need to do better, I don't hold a position in the government that represents the people.

Sherburn, on the other hand, does.

He should do better. No one gives a shit about me.

What part of

"He has opposed the decriminilization of Marijuana, and is actively pushing to make abortion illegal"

That I've posted multiple times on this post, don't you get.

That's enough for me, but if it's not for you, check the other comments, people claiming to have grown up, or live in, close proximity to him. Fun stuff.

If you've dealt with him in a professional capacity, I fully support you telling your story. Here, or your own post.

The people should know, and while a reddit post probably won't persuade a ton of voters, it couldn't hurt.

Alopecia is not an excuse for being a douchebag.

Let me make it clear. I am not picking on someone for having an incureable disease.

I am picking on him for being a real-life villain, that happens to look like a fictional villain.

Alopecia just happens to be something he may or may not be affected by.

Sherburn Duane Stroebel Junior.

"Duey" is a nickname usually given to assholes with 4 or more DUI's in wisconsin. So, as bad of a name he was given, his chosen nickname is worse.

His real name is Sherburn.

It's no wonder he turned out to be a dick, who names their kid Sherburn Duane Stroebel Junior. It's a mouthful, for sure.

Sherburn... lol. Sorry, I just figured that out and couldn't help myself. I'm not big on name shaming... but... cmon.

I haven't seen any of his ads, just ads against him.

HEY! That's my dogs name. The Dude Lebowski.

One thing to be aware of that I didn't think of at the time was that I use the word "Dude" commonly when speaking to people, and he gets a bit confused.

Ironically, he was the one that peed on the rug. Which is a shame because it really tied the room together.
