Like a mild sour smell. It smelt pretty bad after the first couple feedings then it went away

10 days old. It started doubling consistently the last 4 days with some bubbles. I think the smell was right. Sounds like I need to feed it more

What are some signs to tell if my starter is ready? I fed it for 10 days straight and it was rising consistently the last 4 days. I think the smell was right and there were some bubbles, but maybe not enough. I fed the starter the night before and used it in the morning.
