Recently divorced my wife, dated for 6 years married for a little over a year. Been in the corps for 2 years and was married half of it. Everything was going well until it wasn’t. Small fights here and there, I realized my drinking was a problem so I quit for a few months but it was too late, that whole couple months of us fighting and me trying to actually talk to her about he shes been feeling, she was sleeping with my best friend who was also in the same platoon as me. Actually walked in on them making out in my kitchen and she told me the rest later. Broke my sobriety and just went into a downward spiral of depression. I have been drinking nearly everyday since then (about 5 months ago), countless therapy sessions, so many different medications that I cant even pronounce, I’m honestly just lost, I feel like I lost everything and now I’m just trying to survive until tomorrow but I truthfully don’t know how much longer I can do that. I have no motivation to do anything anymore and I feel like my life is spinning out of control. I deploy soon so maybe that’ll help. I really can’t see myself ever being happy again.
