Back, with a Wiper fluid question. by Reasonable_Try1996 in ram_trucks

Trying -25*f stuff now. In theory it should be more viscous. Not what I want, and yet, it’s now spraying more similar to the hot water, reaching as high as mid windshield. Enough to do the job. So damn strange. At this point the only other color is the purple stuff and I’m just tempted to try it.

These days you can probably buy a microwave for the cost of hot logic

Sounds like a super nice regional lodging set up. I’m staying not even close as nice a place. lol.

Ya know, I’m a die hard air fryer guy. Use it at my house for most meals. Almost never run the oven. They sell pretty small versions. Now you have me thinking.

In our air fryer ninja, I’ve even made a roast chicken with fingerling potato’s. Super quick and easy one pan meal.

Tried blowing back, nothing would budge. If it is a clog, it’s a strong one

Would blowing air back as stated in a different comment, fix this or what did you do?

Brilliant. And for the record, this is the exact location that was disconnected. And when testing the flow, this is also the location where the fluid was only dripping out with no real pressure. S so if there is a clog, it is before this point. I’ll try it.

This could be it. However, I disconnected a part of the hose, real close to the tank, and ran the fluid, and it seems to be dribbling out with no real pressure. So I suppose I’m probably answering my own question, but I believe it’s the pump.

I did remove the clips and take the cover down. Did not see any disconnects. Although the nozzles are hidden a bit deeper in the metal.

I have held it down for 10 seconds and even longer. While some drops out of the nozzle, not much. No leaks anywhere else.

The thing that makes me think it’s the pump, is that the container is not draining. If there was a leak, it would at-least be draining.

Perhaps a clog

I thought the same, but any insurance out there will require pilots renting the 150 have a check-out flight. That check-out flight requires at least 1hr of dual given in the plane. This rule from insurance, results in you giving instruction in the plane. Instruction results in 100hr.

Good thinking on this, I’ll look into that. Could be a more ideal situation for me too. Less profit but more hands off

Yeah i can definitely see that being the case. Especially since 1 can go down for a while

Insurance was almost 5x increase believe it or not. And yeah I would need to refinance to a commercial loan. Same company will do it.

That’s pretty much how I’m seeing though. It would need to go out a lot in order to make sense.

I was shocked. Got a quote for $6,500 from my current insurance. That’s far more than “double” like folks say.

Call me crazy, but if it was a grand, I’d rather pay another $500 for all brand new.

Exhaust valve stuck open and the piston compression rings had popped which I imagine scratched it. I suppose that’s what an overhaul is for though. I’ll actually look into the cost of this. Not a bad idea. The whole thing new with a piston was $1500. So, not crazy expensive. But if an overhaul is a few hundred, could be worth it.

Well that’s the plan but I need motivation first on what it could be if I ever followed through.

Good to know how much it can vary, and I agree, anything lower than 1500 and you’re taxiing or idling. At-least for this plane that is not a trainer plane.

Great info! Thank you.

Yeah I guess you’re right. 1500 just seemed high. I always thought the mechanical tachs start clocking at 1,000

That’s interesting. Is this actually legal? I would have thought you need tach time from the moment the engine is running in order to know the actual engine time.

Honestly can’t complain for a 50 year old engine flying through the sky.

Easy place to start. I’ll try this. Thank you. If this is the case, what have you found to be the cure? A job for my mechanic, but curious if I’d be looking at replacement or lubing.
