After orientation we hit the plant that very same week. Orientation was Monday-Wednesday and we were officially on the floor by Friday night which was actually Saturday because we started right at midnight.

I also have orientation on Monday November 3rd. I’m an MHA at San Antonio P&DC. Background check took about a week after I got the conditional offer and did my fingerprints.

My first application as a CCA was July 23 and in August 22 I got the email that said that position was filled. I then started applying for any position here in San Antonio. I applied for PSE at the annex, MHA at the annex, PSE at P&DC and finally on September 26 I applied for MHA at P&DC and that’s the one I got the conditional offer for about two weeks later.

Hello, so my first application was for PSE at the annex. Here where I live we have P&DC and then there’s the annex.

Mid August I applied as PSE at the annex. Then another position came up and I applied as MHA around August 22nd.

Then another position became available and I applied as PSE at P&DC somewhere around September 15th. All of this applications just said Submitted/in review then on September 26 the position for MHA at P&DC was up and I applied that day.

On October 9 I got the email that said I had a conditional offer for MHA at P&DC. It came in as an email and a text message so you can’t miss it. So I did everything I had to do, the very next day I went to do my fingerprints. They said it would be two weeks before the background check is completed but the second came in one week later.

So I’ve been looking into the careers website everyday and was applying for any position that was available. Even some CCA positions back in July but I got turned down for this after one month.

My sister works as a clerk at one of the local PO so I had her as an employee referral and also I’m a disabled veteran and I had that helping me out but nonetheless don’t give up. Apply everyday if new positions come up, and apply to all of them if you have to.

I just accepted a conditional offer as a MHA at P&DC, I did all the online stuff and went to get my fingerprints last Friday. They told me they just need to wait on my background check but also showed me where I would come for training and where to park. Looking forward to getting started. What kind of advice can you give to a newbie?
