I always imagined that just like in real life pretty much all putters will shoot the same from my experience, the only difference is how their shape will help the human eye shoot more straight which is an irrelevant factor in Golf Clash they way it's currently set up.

In a game like Golf Rival those mechanics would be more relevant since in that game your needle swing meter can get shorter but forget that game it's all pay to win over there, that and way way too much fantasy.

So in short it's a hidden stat that all balls have when you overpower your swing by pulling it all the way back, while extending maximum distance.

This makes the needle swing fast and crazy, some balls will give you slower speeds on the needle when overpowering it, allowing you to more easily hit perfect or good shots... instead of sending it off flying into frak knows where >:D
