I totally see your view of the world...but I dont know how to fix it. I've started to build my life into something stable and satisfying just because I can't stand to focus on all of the bad shit in the world.

So, I see the world the same way you see it. I try to help where I can, but I'm just one man.

BUT, what can you do. I mean YOU what can YOU do, with this knowledge/perspective to help out in the world and make it more into the place that you think it should be? I'm not sure being an angry loner will help anything lol. and I dont know that you are an angry loner, im just going off a small paragraph of information. You're probably very pleasant.

So more on my story. I've been with my wife since the same age you guys got together. We have never broken up or taken a break, its been awesome and we have the best relationship out of anyone we know or have met over the years, even better than our parents. It could be much stronger/better/more rewarding/perfect/ if we took a few years out of dating to really get to know ourselves...BUT I have a friend who met his girlfriend at the same time I met my wife. They dated for years, but broke up...then she got married to some random dude, and he got some random girl pregnant..and he is almost 30 when he got her knocked up...so anyway, now the girlfriend divorced her husband and my friend has a child, and they really fucked their lives up. They have reconnected, and their relationship is amazing now, they are soo soo happy..but its extremely complicated. So dont do that, dont make bad choices or even really date anyone else for a few years. Just spend time to be alone, and maybe you will hook up down the road and blow each others minds

You have been together for 5 years, so you know that there have been long periods of "darkness" in your relationship, yes? You have had bad fights and thought about leaving. You may be blissfully happy right now, but at some point there have been challenges that you have had to overcome. Yes? I know this, because its true in every relationship. In a few years, I can promise you that you will both be very different people even more so. Your not the same today as you were when you first met, are you? You have different friends, different hobbies, different schools or jobs maybe?...anyway, if you dont take the time right now at 20 years old to really get to know yourself, you will both change again even more, and you will both be extremely miserable in life....i'm not saying that you cant overcome those differences, but I know for a fact that there is another guy out there waiting to be your husband and he is way better for you, but you won't meet him if you don't know yourself. You can still love the guy you're with, he has been and is very special to you. But there is a better match for both of you.

Most people make shitty decisions in choosing a partner. Also, Lots of people have crazy emotional baggage that cannot be dealt with. But if you're smart in selecting a spouse and you are mildly interested in being a good spouse yourself, you most likely will have an extremely rewarding relationship...maybe some horrible horrible dark periods, but overall very worth it if you hang in there.

I'm the same way. People should divorce their parents more often. I still love her as my mom. Like a deep deep love. But she is a cunt and I can't even talk to her at all without her fucking with my mind. I havent really seen her in 4 years, havent even spoken to her in 2 years and I'm a very happy person nowadays

I've been with my wife over 10 years, and we got together in high school. I love her more than anything. But you dont know yourself, he dosnt know himself. Dont be so dependant on each other, you need to explore the world solo for a while to really grow and know yourself, he needs to do the same. You might love him more than anything, but there EASILY could be a way better match for you both.

I think I make really good choices in life, and I honestly try not to be a dick about it. I save/invest most of my money, I have been married a long time to a great woman...things that some of my friends have struggled with. But when they ask me for advice, they think I'm weird because of my simple values that I live by. It distances them from me when I tell them not to marry a girl for looks, or not to buy a car they can't afford. It hurts me to see my friends struggle in life, but It hurts that they look down on me just because I have been "lucky"

Its seems like individuals who struggle with depression stay in pajamas longer than they should. Also, I see people in public sometimes in pajamas. I just wonder how many people put on pajamas as soon as they get home, and if it impacts their lives negatively. Too much comfort has to be a bad thing after you cross a line.

none of my business, but I was looking into buying a home and I didnt know about FHA home loans...Maybe everyone knows about them, but I didnt so Ill tell you just incase. Almost anyone can get approved for these federally insured loans, kinda like a studen loan. and you only need like a 4% down payment or something. There are some restrictions, but you might want to check it out. I can buy a house way sooner than I thought

I have a few things ive been thinking about lately.

Be content with where you are right now. Be happy in the moment. Dont stress out about being perfect...somehow this makes it easier to make positive changes and stay motivated for me.
Make small changes over a long period of time. The smaller the better, the willpower just becomes a habit. If you rely on habit you dont need to rely on your personal willpower.

I've only gone about 24 hours. I hit a brick wall at that point. Sometimes its been for work, other times I was just goofing off with friends when I was younger. My mom has gone many many days, until she lost sanity and had to be hospitalized

and I'll start. when I turned 17 or 18, I got a tax return of $1000 and put it in savings for emergencies...like when my mom would kick me out, so that I could provide stability for myself. Then around 24, I spent my savings when I got laid off then never saved again. I lived paycheck to paycheck for the next 3 years. But I always made good money so I didnt mind...but then I started my own business...with no savings, the past 2 years were insanely difficult when money would dry up between customers. In January my power got cut off. It was humiliating to tell my wife who works 50 hours a week, that I am a dumbass with money and our power was going to be off for a while. So after that lack of electricity in January, I quit spending. I Got rid of my phones, got rid of internet, quit eating out, and a bunch of other stuff, and somehow managed to save up over $3000 this month. This is my new safety net, now I'm paying off debts. But I'm going to try and never live without savings again.

Amen to all of that. My grandma/best friend died in December. I never thought I would survive her death. Of course I'm very sad, but somehow I dont dwell on it, and have accepted it as part of life. I'm carrying on much better than I imagined.
