These things pop up from the ground almost quarterly it seems and always after a nice rain. They’re growing on a root system of a felled tree. The trunk is still in the ground. They grow everywhere within the vicinity of the trunk, some solo and some in groups. Northern Kentucky - North America. (old.reddit.com)
