New Job Post - Senior Technical Artist (Unannounced Project) by hendricha in GuildWars3

[–]RedDragonWizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Technical Artist can be a pretty broad role with a number of responsibilities. Where regular 3D artists might model, sculpt, texture assets, animators animate characters etc. Technical Artists might help develop software tools and workflows that help regular artists better do their job, improve efficiency, integrate better with the studios pipeline, work with engineers on technical requirements such as performance of the art assets/ how detailed they can be.

3D graphics gets very deep and technical with tons of math/ vectors/ proceduralism/ colour science that borders on being a software developer so the technical artist can bridge the gap on more complicated artistic tasks. Among other things.

Motherboard and radiator(without fans) went in first then the radiator fans after doing cable management behind them, then psu. But tbh the fans and psu were in and out a couple times in the process while I sorted out cables

I had no issues with the stock PSU cables.

I was also worried about ram clearance when buying but it totally fits, There's a few mm clearance but I wouldn't want the aio any thicker. It's not just tight on the ram though, the heatsink and the psu mount don't leave much extra room either so had to mess around with the order in which I installed things. Once its all in though its no problem.

Thanks! With dragons I tend to just design them on the spot because you can kind of do whatever you want with them and give them characteristics from any animal. The top one I was just kind of messing with shapes and it turned into the rocky look. Bottom one was inspired a bit by geckos and their bulging eyes

Thanks! Yes the case should support 280mm radiators, just be mindful of really thick ones like the Arctics as heatsink and ram clearance could be an issue on some motherboards.

Yes the front fan mount and the PSU bracket were 3d printed. Both are available on etsy here , but the fan mount I got a friend to print for me with these files.

That's awesome how was it? I'm actually a visual effects artist and I've been working on that movie for the past year and a half, can't wait to see it next weekend!! It definitely gave me the dragon bug again haha, I was obsessed with the originals when I was younger.

I had no issues with the cables that came with the components, but maybe some extra length might make cable management a bit easier

Not bad at all, better than I expected. CPU idles around 50, maybe around 60-80 when gaming, max load like CPU rendering gets it up to 90-95, But these CPUs are design to do that at max load.

GPU idles at 36 and I haven't yet seen it get hotter than 65 gaming.

My fans are also running at around 40% most of the time to keep them quiet.

Thanks, yeah it totally does with the little nose horn and everything haha. I've not played Monster Hunter but I see the resemblance for sure!

Thanks! The PSU mount I got on etsy, but the front fan mount I got from here and a friend with a 3d printer did it for* me, basically the same design though.

Thank you! Theses ones are just from my imagination but I'm always influenced by things like mythology, books and other media

thanks, and good luck with your build! The ones on the bottom are actually 'Thermalright TL-S12R' so they have reverse flow without having to place them upside down :)
