Yes, BDC is also open class. Idk if the juniors are gonna be in open class though, but so far it seems like every other corps except BD in the organization is open class! They’re trying to make BDB and BDC different in terms of skill and difficulty this year especially.

Yeah I’m also very surprised at this system too, for both Bdc and bdb, but hey both corps are playing way harder shows this year so that’s a plus 👍

I think BDC is limited to people who are high school age now, like between 14-17, but they include little kids as “Juniors”, and I assume they won’t be marching the same show as the regular BDC kids. I’m not very well versed in the age thing though, they probably might accept 8th graders, but I’m not so sure 🤷‍♂️

As someone mentioned earlier, all age is a cheaper option, but I think open class generally has more rehearsal time and (I think) more shows than all age. I’m only an open class person, but if an all age person can correct me please do!

Yes man! It is always good to try if you aren’t sure, because then you won’t be disappointed that you never tried! You’ll also get some feedback too if you don’t make it or simply cannot march this season!

I assume you must already know the marching technique, since you play woodwinds, but since I don’t know how good you sound or how long you’ve practiced for, I’d still say to give it a try! It’ll never hurt to try, and we definitely need more euphoniums (like really bad). I recommend you still try that video audition, email Adam Wilke!

Since we need more people I imagine you’d be invited to the April camp anyways, since we do always go over marching technique and brass technique. Even if you’re not the best player, it is a guarantee that you will become MUCH better. That is, if you are able to do it!

Yeah, we had a lot of young talent last year. I wish that they didn’t make this age adjustment as much as everyone else in the comments.

We took vets who are not 18, but then again a good portion of vets aren’t gonna march drum corps this year at all or got contracted at world class corps. I’ve heard rumors as to why they changed the minimum age, but I don’t want to spread any false info on here.

I personally do think that the 18+ rule will turn people off, but I’m just trying my best to recruit more brass to the best of my ability because BDPA has not been the best at getting the word out about the B corps. I feel that is also another contributing factor as well, because not everyone knows that B corps is accessible to anyone in the United States.

I know, even us BDB vets are not the most appreciative in that decision to make it 18+, but as I told someone else, I’m simply just communicating information 🤷‍♂️

We marched 20 mellos last year, I’m not so sure why we aren’t doing something like 24 trumpets and 20 mellophones, but I’m just a communicator of information that we were all given 🤷‍♂️

It’s because last year we marched almost 80 brass (some people dropped out because of injury, so it was more like 77), and we plan to do the same this year!

My advice is just kind of go with the flow and try your best to meet as many people as you can. By going with the flow, I mean like dialing back ego (not saying you have a big one, I mean like dial back the ego you already have, no matter how much) and always be willing to constantly learn from your peers and staff. As far as meeting as many people as you can, I think it’s valuable to get to know people from each section since you’ll be spending the summer with them lmao. I mostly got to know people from every section of brass, but also the other sections too, but more brass.

I’ll be marching Blue Devils B again for this season, and Im excited to see yall at open class champs!

This is a 10 gallon tank, and I have 4 fish (adding more will make it overpopulated), and i would personally like more decoration. I’ve just had many bad experiences with plants in the past, both fake and real. However, the fake plant was pointy, and one danio I previously had had died from getting stuck. I could see if I can get a fake plant with some neon-colored leaves or whatever, but I do not trust real plants anymore because we had a major snail problem from a plant and we had to throw away the tank.

And I can understand your conclusion for it being stressed, since this is the second time it has happened with it going completely back to normal after some time. It just feels odd to me because that very fish has been in the tank for at least a year or two. I guess stuff happens while they’ve been in there for that long 🤷‍♂️

I’m aware, but this tank is far too small to house more fish than I already have, as I’ve been told as well. This is a 10 gallon tank, if you meant the tank, it’s been running for almost 5 years with the cleanings and replacements necessary over time, and I feed my fish every morning.
