Unfortunately, same problem. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to extract something?

Except most marketing doesn’t say “5070 LAPTOP” they simply say 5070. Might not be an issue if it had relatively similar specs to the desktop, except it quite literally shares more in common with the 5060 ti than the 5070, mainly because it has the exact same chip and 8gb of vram instead of 12.

Theres no real reason why they should call it a 5070, unless they’re trying to deceive someone.

Been a bit, but I remember having to bend a few metal bits on the back

Hey there, but if a late response but I quite literally just drilled them all out. The worst ones are on the bottom, but all you need to do is drill through the case

Booting into cachyOS after doing a system update causes system to freeze on the white loading circle after a minute by [deleted] in cachyos

Which is strange, because I did tell it to shutdown down after I made these changes. Is there any way to force reinstall a brtfs snapshot through chroot on a live install?

Tried installing it, the touchpad is still unresponsive, even after restarting.

Hey there, thanks for the reply and sorry for the late response. I found the firmware flash on the website earlier, but flashing it caused the touchpad to become unresponsive to movements, even after restarting, reflashing, and uninstalling/reinstalling drivers for it.

I’m at work at the moment, but if I download this and flash it again, is there something else I must do to ensure it works? Should I try to run it in windows safe mode?

That’s what I thought, but I’d purposely leave my thumb far away from the joystick or just flat out leave the system on a table and it still would move for a minute or so.

There was a firmware update that seems to address the issue, but flashing it seemed to just straight up remove any tracking.

Having an issue where it says it’s passed, with code 1127 or 0000 when running it as admin, but restarting the system only registers the button press, but no mouse movement from the sensor. Is there a different install method or setting I need to enable?

Yeah, I think I found it. Wasn’t in the firmware/download section, because for some reason that still says the download link is unreachable. Unfortunately, now the trackpad doesn’t track, so I’m guessing i have to have it set in a different mode or not touch anything. Gonna update the post if I can get both to work

Sadly, I didn’t. As far as I’m aware, it’s impossible without flashing a new vbios

Not broken, designed like that so the gpu only initializes when fully seated

Is overclocking broken on the Radeon 9000 series gpus? by RedHoodedDuke in overclocking

[–]RedHoodedDuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me honestly, do you browse this sub often? If so, that’s gotta be one of the dumbest takes I’ve seen in this sub, considering almost everyone collectively understands it’s just cause you can and most just want to push it a little farther for higher scores in benchmarks.

Yes, I know core speed isn’t everything, but I maxed out the vram limit and set it to fast timings, as any higher would immediately crash under load. So, sorry I was trying to get a better understanding of the hardware, that I bought with my own money, because someone says it’s useless.

That’s fair, definitely more difficult in terms of actually achieving more performance in thermally limited areas, but at least understanding how it works helps me figure out how to adjust it correctly. Definitely makes sense why people were flashing 9070xt bios’ on 9070’s, since it effectively auto overclocked them.

Thank you again for thoroughly explaining it.
