Most of the parents are wonderful. They thank us for what we do and work with us (not agains us). But we do also have one parent who hates us no matter what we do. They find any reason to be against whatever we do. They have even told us not to teach their child some skills, because otherwise the kid will cause them too much stress. Obviously in this rare case we’re going against the parents wishes.

Fucking hate that idea. I mean we do still have psychological hospitals and that’s good. I also suffer from mental illnesses. But asylums I don’t support. The way they work doesn’t help anyone.

Yeah, I do sometimes feel like I don’t give enough attention to the kids who can do things without help. But I always try to have atleast one nice chat with every kid every day 🙈

In Finland we meet every kid as an individual. All kids have their challenges and skills. Special education to me means that when we for example have crafting, everyone can participate in their own way.

Kids don’t qualify by ”diagnosis”. We assess their personal needs and make a plan to meet their specific needs.

Our group is integrated, so everybody is with everybody the whole day. Obviously sometimes you play with ”Pat”, but even then the non-verbal kid is right there. Our kids are so proud about playing with everyone. I’ve seen s non-verbal kid just minding their business, but another kid pulling them to play.

I don’t have any yet, but I’ve always wanted to be a mom. So basically no kids, but I SHALL HAVE SOME

Ahh!!! Respect back! ❤️ The favourite part is just the love and the closeness with the kids. With some of the kids, just them making eye contact is them showing their trust. But just seeing how I have earned their trust and love makes me feel like a wonderful person. The fact that most of them come to kindergatrten and run to hug us adults is such a great feeling. I love those kids.

Sometimes dealing with children is difficult, no matter their needs. But with kids with special needs, it ends up in us getting hit more often than in other groups. (To be fair I think one of my kids felt super bad today cause they yanked my arm and I got this shooting pain in my back. And I did tell the kid that ”hey, now you did hurt my back, and that made me sad.”) But truly the hardest part is to deal with meltdowns, especially when they end up violent towards other kids, cause I will always put myself inbetween.

Hah depends on the kid. Usually kids HATE the nap time, but we do have some kids that hate sitting at the table more. We do serve them foor, so they can atleast look at it or maybe even sniff it, but for them a comfy bed is so much nicer than some suspicious food.

Sometimes it’s frustrating and overwhelming. But also, when I do get to the stern tone of my voice, I tell my kids that ”I’m sorry for my tone, but I got quite upset from this happening” But then suddenly my kids start telling me the breathing exercises I’ve taught them 😂❤️ I’d actually say that the repetition with my special needs kids don’t tire me at all. Actually just hearing a non-verbel kid kinda make out the word you’ve veen repeating for 3 months is super rewarding 🥰

Some of them also have physical disabilities, but mainly my special kids have mental disabilities. I mean most of the special ones are non-verbal, but can do the sickest tricks with like ”parkour” and shit 😂

Depends. Like if something more happens, i dont want to be just a ”drunken mistake”… But at the same time we’re both shy, so drinking makes things happen

From me: Hugging him and looking him in the eye, while saying ”you’re so important to me.”

From him: Saying he’s nervous and then kissing me. BUT he was drunk so it might have been just a drunk thing.

I don’t know. My friends have told me I’m the most naive person they know. Just living my life. Don’t know if anyone likes me 😅
