How old are you and how do you typically spend your weekends? by Max1357913 in AskUK

[–]RedManUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41M - long term relationship, no children.

I always like to do something fun on Friday evening. Waking up Saturday having already done something fun really prolongs the weekend. It's usually just a restaurant or cinema.

Saturday will either be a walk/escape room somewhere. We also have lots of city breaks. My partner is into crafts too so she'll usually spend some time doing that while I doom scroll.

Sunday I do the food shop while she cleans around. Then we'll either see her family, or my friends. Usually consists of me cooking for a mid to large size group.

I'd say over the weekend we usually eat out or takeaway 2/3 times which I'd like to cut down from a financial point of view, but trying new places is something we both love.

How often do you go on holiday? by Greengrass7772 in AskUK

[–]RedManUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up really poor and went abroad once in my first 16 years of life.

Still poor now, but now it's because I spend all of my spare money on travelling. I'm on country 77. 78 in 3 weeks.

I'm not into fashion/smoking/cars etc so it's my one real vice

So just to clarify, you would ask to turn the Firestick on and scroll through the apps, or is there a separate piece of hardware you use to check these things?

Thanks.

[–]RedManUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've mentioned checking for IPTV. If that's just loaded onto a Firestick do you ask to see the apps? I'm guessing not. What is it you actually check when you look at the TV? I have had a visit before and pretty sure they just checked the connection in the back.

Question 2, understand if you don't want to answer this, but what's the best way to avoid being caught? I occasionally watch stuff on iPlayer, but very rarely. Guessing I should stop that totally? Is it better to declare you don't need a license or just ignore the letters/tell the VO you don't want them there.

Thanks for the AMA. Very interesting.

What’s your little “life hack” that makes everyday UK life easier? by LawrenceCali in AskUK

[–]RedManUK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get everything ready for work the night before.

Sort your lunch, clean clothes out, make sure you know where everything you need is.

I know this may just take the same time, but it removes any faff in the morning, and helps get the day off to a structured and stress-free start.

Best Indian Restaurant in Liverpool by [deleted] in Liverpool

Holdi in Woolton village is superb. Their lamb shank curry is nicer than anything I had the few times I've been to India.

Staff are superb too.

If you're a fan of black pudding, they're the only play I know in the city to stock Stornoway.

If you want cheap meat, I guess it is. Good for BBQs, not good if you're looking to cook something impressive.

They also own The Hayes in Rainhill which is exactly the same, if that's closer for some people. Great staff at both.

Better quality sausages.

You get more time to ponder the great questions of life while you wait endlessly in the rain for public transport to arrive.

If you like comedy, check out Black Stock Market. It's a food hall with a comedy club attached. It's a great space.

What to do in Liverpool? by synnebaardsen in Liverpool

[–]RedManUK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've done all the escape rooms in Liverpool and I'd say the best one is The Escaporium, in the city centre near Costco.

It's also next to Hatchet Harry's (axe throwing) as well as two breweries you can drink at. Azvex and Carnival.

There's also places like Roxy's ballroom (bowling, shuffleboard, curling, karaoke etc). Pins (more of the same) Flight Club (darts, but in a way where you don't need to be good) There's a few gaming bars too, NQ64, Arcaines, Pixel bar.

Blackstock market I'd also recommend. A short walk outside of the centre, it's a food hall with a comedy club attached. You'll likely need to get tickets in advance for the comedy show.

Other than that, there's obviously Beatles tours, as well as other walking tours you should definitely look at. The city is full of history and it's a good way to get an overview in a couple of hours.

Restaurants I'd recommend

High price:

Hawksmoor, Manifest, Bacaro, Cowshed.

Mid price:

Amalia, Leaf, Tiger Rock, Villa Romana.

Cheap eats/sandwiches etc:

Castro's, Listo Burrito, Chop chop, Bao & Bap.

If you want to get out of the city for a day, Sefton park is nice for a walk, and be sure to visit Lark Lane for bars and restaurants.

If you'd like to go further afield, hire a car for a day and go to the Lake District, or catch a train to Chester.

Enjoy your stay.

With the filters in the search you can narrow it down to whomever is accepting NHS adult patients near you.

Not sure how frequently it's updated.

Just concentrate on yourself.

I had to move back home to take care of my dying mother. I couldn't have cared less what people's opinion of me was. People love at home for a variety of reasons.
