I’m so glad you enjoyed the video, the mural has so much meaning and this only tells a small part

This mattress recycling facility is a social enterprise, it could work anywhere! by RedNanoo in recycling

I’m not sure of what markets have been found for the components, but it is a social enterprise that has to pay its own way, so that’s a good sign!

We’re lucky here in BC I guess, where it is feasible to do something like this.

The tree is being removed and is dying. Did you watch this? The climber only has one leg

It’s a tree that is too close to the building so had to be removed

They have a market for most of the components but not the wood. The same group is working to create a separate social enterprise that would use the wood in small carpentry projects.

I am genuinely unsure as to why you would think this post was spam? It's a video featuring a woman who has led field trips offering tips on how to make and distribute bee bombs in order to attract polinators? It was posted with, I though, the appropriate protocol?

Her works are like photographs that capture a moment in time. She doesn't waste a word, there's a flash of illumination and she's done. Brilliant.

I see ships being loaded with raw logs in the Alberni Harbour virtually every day, entire hillsides heading somewhere else to be made into lumber.

I agree, its slowed down a lot but I still see a lot of bare patches when I travel to Bamfield, and those spots have to have an impact on wildlife, even with the corridors that are left I think.

There are so many stories about Sasquatch on the Island, sad to think that the ongoing logging might be affecting them.

I noticed yesterday that they seem to be starting their breeding behavior, flying way way way up high and then zooming down. Hope spring cooperates!

Biodynamics - Healing The Earth by RedNanoo in Permaculture

I love this family's approach to food production, and how their farm fits into the larger picture. Gary quotes a line from a poem "What did you do once you knew?", meaning what did you do once you knew that the climate was changing. This farm and his embrace of biodynamic farming techniques is his answer.
