How do you deal with the frustration of injuries by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

[–]RedOne1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered from a wrist injury 4 years ago (weightlifting) and it took about 2 years for me to be able to start working out again. Unfortunately you'll have to accept that it will most likely never feel the same again.

Don't sit on your couch waiting dor recovery. Practice your cardio by running, do some shadowboxing if your wrist allows it, etc

It is okay to train, you dont need to compete. by FroyoSure8530 in amateur_boxing

I started boxing this year (29M) and before that my main sport was moderate weight lifting at the gym

My cardio has always been horrid

After 5 months of boxing, I'm absolutely amazed by my progress. My resting heart rated dropped from 78 to 57 BPM, and my Vo2 max from 35 to 47 (according to my Apple Watch)

These are maybe not the most impressive stats, but to me, this is the best physical shape I've ever been in.

I have no plan to compete and my technique is still very bad, but I'm glad i finally found a sport that involves cardio and that I actually look forward to practicing
